-----Raven heads out down the corridor.
-----Through the opening to the west, everyone enters into a good-sized square chamber, perhaps some twenty feet across. Here the air is very still and the same dank, moldy smell remains. A dripping sound is heard coming from one of the corners of the room where the stone wall look fairly damp. In the each corner of the room there is a metal urn that stands about waist high. In this room, there is a single exit on the south wall.
-----Sol quickly glances around the room, and not seeing any immediate threat, heads over to the exit in the southern wall. There he keeps watch until others have searched the room more thoroughly.
-----Taking the hint, Raven searches the room for tracks and for anything odd.
-----The wolf takes to snuffling about again; its nose moving from side to side as it works its way to the center of the room. As it finds Raven there, the wolf stops and sniffs one particular spot before looking up at its master. The wolf seems calm as it pauses.
-----Rinda begins aggressively moving about the room almost prowling like a caged animal. The huntress has sheathed her short sword; her club now in her hand. She keeps her eyes moving about the walls and the ceiling where the light from Garrison's torch flickers and casts moving shadows.
-----The woodsman also approaches one of the metal urns with Raven. He points out a flat metal lid that closes over the top that appears to simply lift off to permit access to the inside of the container.
-----Still everything remains silent here except for the dripping noise from one of the corners.
-----Curiosity getting the best of him, Raven lifts the lid off the urn.
-----Garrison slightly flinches as if Raven's action takes him by surprise. He takes a step backward until the hunter opens the top of the urn. Seeing nothing harmful happening, Garrison cautiously holds the torch over the container and peers over the top. It is apparent he and Raven see what is inside.
-----"Hmm," the woodsman says a bit more relaxed, "Not the dragon treasure everyone's looking for, but not a bad find either."
-----Raven frowns, "Who would store gold like this, right in the open?" Raven rubs his chin, "I didn't see any active tracks in this room. Very strange."
-----Raven makes no sign of taking any of the gold. Instead he seems to be waiting to see what the group thinks about this.
-----Sarah glances inside the urn, also curious. "Well, someone's been here. How old do you guys think this stuff is?" She asks, scratching some of the dirt off the urns so she can see what design it is.
-----Sol continues to peer into the gloom of the southern corridor, though it's obvious from his slightly leaning forward posture and a cocked head that he is more intent on listening out. After Garrison's words, Sol offers in a low tone, "We may as well open them all then. There doesn't seem t'be anyone using them anymore."
-----"No idea." Sol replies from his chosen spot, "How many empires have fallen during Altoria's history? We've come across old Gorian as well as the even older Lathanian ruins. Could be as old as that, or maybe some sod is just using these ruins as a place t'hide his stash."
-----"Maybe someone has stored this here," Rinda says, her eyes gleaning in the torch light, "and the creatures here either preyed on them or they are used as guardians."
-----Garrison frowns as he approaches another urn. "Guardians?" he asks as he lifts the lid from it, "Someone could be controlling huge toads and lizards? I don't like the sound of that."
-----The woodsman then reveals another stash of gold coins filled to the brim in this container.
-----"Geometric designs..." Sarah muses as she looks at the urns etchings. "That doesn't really narrow it down a lot...hmmmm..." She looks at some of the coins to see if they're a current mint or an old one. Sarah is ready to keep going if the rest of the party makes a move.
-----Sol still guards until the rest decide to move on as well. "Garrison, ye may as well check th' last two as well, fer thoroughness' sake. Once we know what's in them, we may as well finish exploring th' place a'fore we decide what t'do wi' th' coinage."
-----Raven says to Garrison, "I'll check the other one." Raven walks over to an urn and opens it.
-----Raven and Garrison reveal the contents of the last two containers to be more gold coins.
-----Garrison quietly says, "All this gold. Can you imagine how this might help out the people of Silvergard with their defense and so on?"
-----Sol nods at Garrison's words somewhat vaguely as he indicates for Raven to take point again down the south corridor. A small smile seems to be growing on his face, as the warrior is reminded of his enjoyment of exploration.
-----Sarah looks at the coins briefly. "These were minted recently, so somebody put them here not long ago. Maybe they're still here? Let's be cautious..." She gives Sol a look like she knows he will ignore her advice, and gets behind him to keep exploring.
