-----Sol waves the group to move forward, and continues to walk towards the indicated chamber.
-----Mirian curiously moves beside Garrison and lays her hand upon his arm. Looking at the dancer questioningly, he watches her take the torch from him. Shrugging, she smiles and says, "Let me guard this light in case we are waylaid again."
-----Raven advances beside Sol quietly. For a moment, he falters and those nearest him notice a heavy grimace seize his facial features.
-----"We are nearly at the end of the hallway," Sarah says quietly and sure enough, the torchlight begins picking up the shadowy details of an open portal.
-----"Ha! I feel our enemy lies just within!" Lovan suddenly says perhaps a bit too loudly. "Time to unlease the storm!"
-----By this time, the torches reveal a large entryway whose frame must once have been magnificently and regally adorned. The way here is open and little detail is seen of the chamber save for a smooth stone floor. The only hint comes from the Lord Wizard's daughter who with her night vision, exclaims under her breath, "This was once their great hall or maybe the throne room!" Keeping her eyes on the darkened chamber, the young mage punctuates her caution and concentration as she silently reaches for her spell components.
-----Just then Raven stops before they reach the threshold. The hunter's face shows a rising anger coming over his features. A low growl comes from him and in a disdainful tone, he says, "Orc. This place stinks of orcs!" Raven grips his twin swords firmly.
-----"And ogres!" Garrison adds. A similar expression holds the woodsman's features as he flexes his arms and raises his battleaxe.
-----Mirian edges her torch around to provide some light for the group. She then watches Sol for his reaction.
-----Sol peers into the darkened chamber, wishing that there was more light to work with. However, such wishes were a waste of time, so shrugging casually, he grimly speaks to the others, "Stay close, an' as Lovan suggested, let's unleash th' Fury . . . Th' vermin inside certainly deserve it." Stepping confidently forwards, Sol enters the large hall, hoping to find the prey.
-----Suddenly there is a light that breaks forth. Two large cauldrons, spaced in the middle of the huge chamber, about twenty feet on either side of the portal Sol enters through, fill with bright flames. They illuminate the shadows of humanoid creatures running toward the adventurers or taking up defensive positions.
-----The party gets the impression of a vast chamber some one hundred feet in width with the opposite wall only half that distance. The flames reflect in several large mirrors that line the walls. The ceiling lies out of sight overhead although a balcony shielding the upper floor runs a good twenty feet over them.
-----Suddenly a hail of arrows meets them but miraculously misses Sol, Raven and Garrison.
-----Garrison steps out and a menacing grin forms on his face. "COME ON!" he growls to two larger shapes lumbering out of the darkness.
-----Just behind Raven, the huntress intones savage, but graceful tones in reverence to the Great Hunter. Her voice takes on a chanting quality, which reveals some sort of prayer.
-----A ring accompanies Romney's sword as it leaves its sheath and the guard keeps his other hand aloft to shield Mirian.
-----So many . . . Sol breathed in deeply, but once, his nostrils flaring, before rushing to meet the largest concentration of enemy troops. As the Gorian warrior hurtles down the hall, his cry erupts loudly, "May you all suffer th' Rager's wrath!"
-----As the young warrior rushes in, he is aware of Raven just off to his left. The hunter springs ahead of him with tremendous fury instantly killing an orcish warrior.
-----Sarah shields herself behind Sol grimacing at the fact that she can't lob a fireball into the fray just yet with the men racing ahead of her. Calmly she draws upon her magic and a string of seven small rainbow colored crystal discs. Intoning her arcane words in the same passion as Sol's battle-cry, a trio of rainbow discs comes into being before her. In the next instant, they fly above the action on the floor toward one of the taller creatures. Two of the magical discs slam into the face of one of the ogres while the third cruises right over its head. The monster yells out painfully at the impact while its shoulders and huge club slump toward the floor. The ogre shakes its head slowly as if greatly disoriented.
