-----Feeling the exhilaration of his companions by his side, Sol thrusts the Lathanian blade into the gut of the next rushing orc. Seeing its life leaves its eyes, the young warrior throws the dead humanoid off his blade in one quick fluid movement.
-----A very loud feline yowl is heard to Sol's right as a large cat bites a frightened orc almost in two.
-----Meanwhile Garrison stands before the other ogre, an undeniable rage evident on his face. The huge monster swings his club downward, but Garrison leaps to one side avoiding the massive weapon.
-----Again to Sol's left, Raven slashes and kills another orc. As he angrily turns his attention to another humanoid, one of his swords suddenly slips from his left hand! Cursing, the hunter watches as it flies to his left a few feet.
-----"Behind us!" Mirian suddenly cries, "More are coming up the hallway!"
-----As if this is not distressing enough, the humanoids in front of the adventurers weigh in with a furious vigor. Raven manages to duck and parry two advances on him while Sol thrusts two orcish swords back himself.
-----The large lion cat beside Sol still has a death bite frozen on the orc it attacked. Suddenly another humanoid stabs it in the hindquarters drawing an almost too human gasp from the feline.
-----"May the Lightning pierce your soul!" Lovan yells as he faces off with an orc. The storm priest catches his enemy's blade with the shaft of his warhammer.
-----The lion lashes out with one claw at the humanoid, which wounded her. Holding one still in her mouth, she misses the orc.
-----Suddenly, Romney is there by the lion's side and just as quickly he runs the offending orc through, forcing it down to the floor in its own blood. As the humanoid falls still, the guard from Oakwood looks at the lion asking, "Rinda, are you all right?"
-----As if in reply, the lion lifts one paw and rips the neck of the orc in her mouth. The lion drops the dead humanoid before roaring at the evil troop trying to surround them.
-----Sol swings across and beheads another orc close to their front line.
-----Way over to the right, Garrison leaps up as high as he can while in the motion of swinging his battleaxe. The weapon slices through the monster's fur and hide, injuring its lower torso. The ogre roars in its own pain and anger. Garrison tries to strike the ogre again as he lands, but the monster moves before the woodsman can damage its shins.
-----Lovan throws his weight into his swing as he brings his warhammer toward his foe's head. The orc anticipates the storm priest movement jumping to the side in time to avoid the hit.
-----Romney kills another orc just before he begins to fall back toward Mirian's position.
-----Just then a strange beam of light shoots out across the floor. The direction of the beam appears to be near Raven although the hunter leaps for his dropped weapon just in time to avoid it.
-----Sol can see the two ogres and five more orcs in front of his friends. At the same time, he detects humanoid shouts behind them coming up the hallway.
-----Raven, Rinda and Lovan were more than a match for five orcs. Raven alone was. The threat from behind could not be ignored, however, so Sol quickly called his orders, "Romney, guard th' doorway. Sarah, if th' new arrivals are hostile, hit 'em hard!"
-----Sol grinned wildly at the orcs as a parting gesture before launching himself recklessly at the ogre not currently fighting Garrison. He yelled a brief, joyous battle-cry as he closed on the lumbering opponent, his Lathanian blade poised to strike.
-----Raven leaps to his feet from a rolling movement, and instantly another orc loses its life.
-----The she-lion snarls as its rakes its claws at another orc but merely manages to scratch its arm.
-----The last remaining magical disc circles in the air and then speeds toward its orgish target once again. It strikes the monster solidly in the chest. The ogre roars and an angry look takes hold of it as it looks at the smaller opponents in front of it.
-----Turning to face the hallway behind them, Sarah glares at the approaching humanoids and says menacingly, "Mirian, Romney get down! These orcs are mine!"
-----The dancer, seeing the seriousness of Sarah's posture, quickly pushes Romney to one side.
-----Within a few seconds, a single reddish point of light streaks from the mage's finger back down the hall they came up. Suddenly the hallway erupts into a bright and hot inferno destroying around a dozen humanoids, who probably had no idea what hit them. The carpeting that catches fire reveals nothing left alive there.
-----Back within the chamber, Lovan curses and brings his warhammer solidly against the skull of the orc that faces him. A loud crack is heard just before the humanoid falls dead at his feet.
