-----The Dread Pirate, grumbling over his rapidly emptying bag of tricks, quickly scans the webs before they are set alight. "Ye never know what might be in their nest. Let’s at least take a look before we torch it. And make sure the webs aren't too extensive. We don't want to set the building alight with us trapped inside. Though it should be safe enough since the oil didn't burn it down."
-----Sarah hovers around Gimplefwick, not wanting to go into the webs herself, but curious as to what the Dread Pirate will find within.
-----Sol asks Kazel for the torch and takes it with his left hand. He walks up to the edge of the web and begins to slowly push the torch to it.
-----Suddenly the dancing light picks up a form a few feet in front of the party just over their heads. Among the webs an ugly mass of webbing forms a tight bundle around something. It hangs suspended by thick strands. A small foot with hairy toes extends from the bottom of the bundle and a weak moan is heard from within it.
-----Seth exclaims, "It must be one of the little halfling children." He puts away his sling and pulls out his dagger and moves over to help Sarah and Dread cut the child free.
-----"That or Arian," Sol adds. Noticing the height differentiation between Dread and the bundle of webs, Sol hands the torch to him before raising his sword, "I guess we're about t'find out how strong this web is."
-----The Dread Pirate continues cutting at the strands of webbing, ignoring the proffered torch, "Arrr, ye almost fried whoever is in there, why don't ye take yer torch and back off from the web there, hero. After this we can all leap off a cliff afore we look at it. Maybe ye should just stick to wavin yer sword about and chargin head on at monsters." The Dread Pirate continues grumbling under his breath as he saws at the stubborn webs.
-----Frustrated with the stickiness of the webs, Gimplefwick removes his final flask of oil and begins removing his leather vest and various clothing.
-----Meanwhile, Sol takes carefully aimed yet strong swings of his sword at the web holding the halfling. Before the Dread Pirate has a chance to oil himself up, the Lathanian blade slices through two strands of the webbing. That proves to be enough as the bundled webbing falls into the arms of the young warrior. The bundle sticks to Sol’s surcoat and as the warrior commences to set the bundle down, he also slowly begins peeling it from his clothing.
-----The weak moaning begins coming again from the bundle, which appears to be about Gimplefwick’s size, and slow twisting movements come from whoever is inside.
-----"Dread, ye'd better put yer clothing back on. Ye wouldn't want to scare the poor bloke." Sol grins at the underdressed pirate. Deciding he can clean himself off later, Sol sets his sword down on the ground. Slowly he bends down over the struggling form and says in a clear voice, near where the head should be, "If ye can hear me, ye'd better stop struggling so we can free ye. Yer safe now."
-----Sol then reaches down to his right boot, and pulls his dagger free. He then waits patiently for the halfling to stop moving around, so that he can help cut the person free.
-----Sarah’s jaw drops as she sees what is in the spiders’ webs. "Oh Destine, that’s horrible." She says, stunned. Moving anxiously about, wringing her hands in frustration while Sol and Gimplefwick try to extract him, she immediately rushes to the halfling child’s side when it is down.
-----She starts looking for airholes, etc, peeling the webbing back away from the young halfling’s face. "Quick! Get this stuff off of him!" The young sorceress all but yells.
-----As this 'bundle' has been safely detached from the webs, Seth begins searching the rest of the webs again carefully looking for the rest of the missing children.
-----Raven says to Rinda, "Rinda, does the child need healing?" Raven then turns and helps Seth search the area.
-----The huntress nods at Raven and bends down to help Sarah and Sol. As she does, she says to Gimplefwick, "Dread, you aren’t feeling sick from that spider bite, are you?"
-----As the group pulls the web free of who’s inside, they see an adult halfling male, pale and very weakened from his ordeal. He gasps at the abundance of air now available to him. Squinting into the torchlight, he weakly looks around and chokes out, "Arian . . . the children . . ."
-----Raven appears out of the darkness from helping Seth search for the children. Making sure the halfling can't see him; he slowly shakes his head. The hunter's sad face says it all. Raven says, "We should get him out of here, there could be more of 'em."
