-----Sarah shakes her head. "I don't like the false prisoner idea for several reasons. First off it would mean one of us would have to be with the prisoners and not out fighting with the rest. I don't think we can afford that. Secondly the prisoners are mostly non-descript human males. We don't have many of those with us and I fear if we tried to blend in we would be spotted rather quickly. I think it might work out better if we ambush them using the prisoners as bait. For example we could put the prisoners in the top of a tower and soak the tower with lamp oil. If they try to take the prisoners out, we torch the tower." Sarah says, her face emotionless. "If we had more time...." Sarah shakes her head, "That doesn't matter, we don't." Sarah nods at Dread suggestion of usefully employing corpses. "The more to confuse them, the better."
-----The Dread Pirate further illustrates his plan, "It'd be good if we also put out all the torches and lights in here. They'd have to expend some effort to be able to see in here. And our caltrops could be put to better use in the dark. But what we really need to concentrate on is gettin two or three of 'em in a group so Sarah can hit 'em with that spiderweb spell. If they just happen to group up like that at any time, go ahead and hit 'em with it. That just might happen because people tend to group up in the dark and subconsciously draw closer to each other fer protection. Especially if they be nervous, which they should be. We can also make a big bonfire outside the entrance, that'd silhouette anybody tryin to sneak in. And it should allow you human types to be able to see a bit better. Speakin' of which, once a couple of 'em get webbed, we folk that can see 'em should probably use our missile weapons and take 'em out afore they manage any trickery."
-----Sarah adds, "Don't worry about me being able to see. I can see just fine in the dark. I have a lot of other spells that will come in very useful. I'll try to charm one of them, which would be a tremendous advantage for us, and following that I'll try to blind them or hypnotize them. If none of that works I have two of the magic missile spells memorized. But I need to be somewhere I can see all them and be pretty well protected. Up in the battlements on top of the keep should be a good place, but I can't get separated from you guys, I'm worthless in combat." She says, stating it merely as a fact and for the moment not at all ashamed of it.
-----The diminutive pirate rubs his chin and contemplates for a moment, "We can also place a couple of big barrels of oil right inside the door, ready to tip outside. Once that oil hits the bonfire outside, it should be wizard flambe.
-----"Good thinking." Sarah says.
-----Finally the Dread Pirate pauses and states, "I'd still like an escape route out of here. Just in case. But it could also be used to get in by those folk outside. Anybody else got any ideas?"
-----Sarah turns to Seth. "Ask Woder about any secret exits or entrances this tunnel might have. Also ask him if our visitors know about any entrances or exits."
-----For a moment, Seth smiles broadly at the mention of ‘Sir Slappy’. His eyes then widen over the talk of tactics between Sarah and the Dread Pirate. Cupping his hand over his mouth, he gasps with a look of shock, "We have to kill the prisoners?"
-----In response to Dread’s question for an escape route, he says quickly, "Hey Dread, how about your rope that we used to get over the wall? You could keep it coiled up in the shadows ready to throw down if we have to run to the walls."
-----At Sarah’s request, Seth looks uneasily at Woder. Nodding, he starts across the floor toward the assassin muttering, "Be back in a moment."
-----After a few moments, he comes back over to the others and reports, "Woder said this castle has no tunnels or exits that he knows of. Plans were being made to eventually start digging one."
-----With a firm voice, Sol starts again, "We hold the keep at the moment and as such we currently have the choice of battleground. I think we should take them in the courtyard. We don't know what's involved with activating the gem, an' I don't want to let them get the chance to set it up while we're tangled up in combat. I know we have the gem at the moment, but who knows...Ever since they found that we were here, they may have attained another to use. So, I don't think we should let the battle in here."
-----"Also if the battle stays in the courtyard, Dread can still work his surprises and Sarah can work her magic from the battlements. Also that keeps them away from the prisoners. Dread, ye made a good point about one o' them slipping past. Maybe one o' us could stay hidden in here t'deal with that. Though, I've got t'admit, they're a fairly useless lot. They'd probably only make a run fer it, if they were free."
-----Once more Sol frowns as he speculates, "Do ye think that followers o' th' Dark would have any problem seeing in th' dark? Maybe I'm just being a little paranoid, but it strikes me as something to take note of. I wouldn't be surprised if they could." He then smiles grimly as he adds, "Somehow I don't see them being nervous about this evening at all. I've not known one to be anything but arrogant and over confident."
