-----The dark form standing in front of the keep’s window seems to grasp its cloak and hold it out so it resembles the wings of an infernal creature. It then takes to the air moving toward Sarah!
-----Sol snarls in fury. Bugger the spider and the other creeps. The winged one dies now. Sol scrambles up the steps of the tower and goes through the hatchway. He then sprints down the catwalk, all the while judging distances.
-----Sarah feels more terrified than she ever has in her life. Her eyes widen and her heartbeat, already exaggerated, shakes her entire body. "Oh !@$#." She yells, and falls backwards against the ramparts, preparing one last ditch spell. "Let's see how well you fly in a web." She says, desperate to keep the creature away from herself.
-----Just as the creature makes it to the catwalk a large gluey mass appears and springs up engulfing the thing. The webbing secures itself to the wall and the creature violently struggles in it. The webbing pulls it to the catwalk where it blocks the way to the other tower.
-----As Sol rushes down the catwalk toward Sarah, he hears a sound behind him. As he turns to look, a strange sensation washes over him. Quickly his strength begins to leave him, bringing a strong feeling of fatigue. Looking behind him, he sees a figure following him on the catwalk. It moves with an almost inhuman speed as it approaches. As it near him, the young warrior can see it appears to be a man wearing dark clothes covered by a dark cloak. His face appears thin and dark with small whitish lines like thunderbolts on his cheeks.
-----The dark one chuckles lowly as he draws a sword on Sol.
-----"Yer second rate magic ain't goin' t'save ye." Sol growls as he shifts to a defensive stance and raises his own blade. The man seems to have the speed, so Sol figures he'll let the bastard come to him.
-----When the man draws near for battle, Sol whispers loud enough for the man to hear, "In Strator's name, time to see true lightning strike."
-----Suddenly, time seems to momentarily stop as a loud rumble is heard among the clouds overhead. It builds as all who stand on the catwalk feel a tingling coming in the air around them. With a deafening boom, the clouds explode and erupt sending a single blue bolt straight down toward the castle wall.
-----Immediately Sol’s body is encased in the intense brightness of the lightning producing a glow that is blue-white in color. Sol stretches out his arms as he feels his strength flow back into him as his dark opponent backs up in extreme surprise.
-----In the next moment, the darkness returns to the thick clouds overhead and the stillness of the forest continues. Sol stands on the catwalk glaring at the dark one, his form now emitting a bright blue glow that slowly fades.
-----The dark one grimaces angrily but quickly recovers his wits. He runs and strikes at the young warrior with his sword only to find his weapon somehow repulsed by Sol’s chain armor.
-----With a growing reddish light in his eyes, Sol strikes back at the evil one ripping through the dark clothing and wounding his enemy in the abdomen. A second sweep of the Lathanian blade misses as the villain moves back with that incredible speed. With a look of shock and fear, the dark one runs back toward the tower.
-----"Stay safe, and watch fer the 'spider'." Sol's tone is one of something akin to wonder though it still has a definite angry edge to it. He begins to chase after the dark cloaked man. Though not likely catch him, Sol hopes the man will lead him to the others.
-----After a few painful seconds of trying to get up, Sarah walks over to the webbed darkling. "Burn." Is all she says, as she strikes the web with flint and steel, jumping back as it ignites. She stands tall and casts two bolts of magical energy at the monster in the fire.
-----The dark one begins to scream as the flames start eating into the webs. The magic missiles strike the form causing it further pain. Sarah sees hands clawing the air as it frantically tries to free itself. The fire then catches the cloak the thing wears and the flames ride up its back. The hands then try to slap the growing flames around it out but to no avail. Suddenly one hand grabs at its head and pulls at its face. The skull-like countenance is pulled off revealing an agonized human man. The man gasping for air continues to struggle in the flaming webs.
-----Sol runs down the tower stairs and rushes out the door at the bottom. There he scans the courtyard, but sees nothing of his quick opponent. Suddenly from across the way, he hears someone whistle sharply near the large bonfire.
-----Frowning, Sol heads quickly towards the fire, despite his suspicions. He reaches the bonfire in front of the keep, his every sense alive and alert. Just as he positions himself, he could have sworn he heard a noise as if something falling and making a thudding sound. As he looks around, he sees the stable. It was not far from where he had seen the spider-like form earlier.
-----Just as he halfway makes up his mind to charge the stables, a form appears at one of the open windows. Sol can’t believe his eyes as standing there facing him appears to be a harlequin jester. The jester’s face appears white with black diamond-shapes decorating his eyes. A dangerous sort of smile crosses his black lips as he tells Sol, "I have a friend here who wants to say hello."
