-----"No problem." Sarah says, smiling. She walks over to Woder and curtsies in front of him. "Hi, I'm Sarah." She says sweetly. "This is for Aaron, you son of a bitch." She takes out a dart and jams it into his throat. "I hope you bleed for hours." She screams into his ear before yanking the dart out. Woder gasps out in extreme pain.
-----Taking a few deep breaths, she goes about her preparations without a further word.
-----Kazel says from one side, "Then leave him to me when you all are through with him. I'm not done with him yet."
-----A thought suddenly occurs to her, and she says to anyone who cares. "Just so you know, those followers can indeed see in the dark. Maybe better than any of us."
-----She then goes off to make her own preparations.
-----Sarah has another idea and goes into the keep and to the upstairs window. She ties one end of a rope to something very secure and lets the other hang out of the window. She then takes the other end and hangs it loosely on top of the outer walls of the keep.
-----"If I knew how to cast a flight spell I wouldn't have to do this, but Levitation is kinda limited so this will have to do." She explains to anyone who asks. "And this way I can choose whether to go in the window or on the roof."
-----Seth moves around looking at The Dread Pirate’s traps, trying to work out the best place to cast grease spells. After awhile he finds some food scraps, carefully putting any fat in his pocket and the rest he feeds to Albert as he sits in a corner wishing he was someplace else.
-----After a while he takes out his harp and plays some soft music, reminiscent of water trickling in the creek as it winds through a grove of oaks....
-----The last few hours of daylight seem to go by very slowly as the adventurers find their places. Sol finds his secure spot outside and Sarah stays out on the outer wall near her rope that extends toward the keep.
-----Inside Kazel, Seth and Dread finds their own places to hide. The dead guards are scattered about as left by the Dread Pirate and the great hall takes on an uncanny tomb-like feel. Woder sits slumped nearby the stairs still bleeding from his wounded throat. It is unclear if the assassin still lives as he has remained motionless for quite a while. Albert perches overhead on a small balcony above the hall, his beady eyes looking down on his master.
-----Soon the sun behind the clouds sinks below the treeline and the gray light that filled the keep and courtyard fades and darkens. Atop the wall, Sarah brings forth Chessie and the small owl takes to the air flying off among the trees. The night now takes on an eerie quality as the surrounding forest falls silent.
-----"The forest is silent. They're here," Sol thinks. His blood begins to pound, more than making up for the lack of noise. The Gorian draws out his Lathanian blade slowly and tries to keep his eyes off the bonfire so that what little night sight humans possess doesn't disappear.
-----A look of horror grows on his face as he realizes a mistake has been made. Sarah has the gem now, not him. He gave it back to her. These Dark bastards need the gem, and they may well know how to trace it somehow. Sarah has the gem. Sarah is in the front line of the coming fight. Damn. Sol had hoped to engage the enemy at a time of his choosing, but now...
-----Suddenly Sol standing inside the door to one of the towers, sees some movement on the wall just above the gate. Unbelievably, in the light of the bonfire, he makes out a human form climbing over the parapets and gaining the catwalk on the inside of the wall. It quickly makes it to the gate and hurriedly raises the front portcullis.
-----Three more dark forms stride through the gate and enter the courtyard. Incredibly one form lifts its hand and disappears into thin air. The other two forms quickly melt into the wavering shadows cast along the wall by the fire.
-----Sol then sees the original dark figure atop the wall. A large cloak is about its shoulders and it begins crawling down the wall much like a spider.
-----Sol watches the spider form descend the wall. Suddenly his attention is diverted to the high wall to his left. A very bright light comes into being against the side of the keep facing the back wall. There just in front of the light, there appears to be another man-sized form perched outside on the windowsill. Across from the figure, Sol sees Sarah standing on the catwalk on the wall shielding her eyes somewhat from the sudden glare.
-----The dark form raises its hands and in the next instant two streaks of bright green rocket across toward the mage. The streaks hit Sarah fully nearly knocking her back against the wall. Her demeanor shows she is greatly weakened.
