-----"Hey, Sol." Sarah says coming up behind him. "Just because they were no match for us doesn't mean they couldn't terrorize a couple farmers or forestmen. I don't think it’s that much of a stretch."
-----"Doesn't mean we shouldn't ask them some very prying questions though." Sarah says. "Maybe I can help with that."
-----Sarah walks to the nearest, least harmed, bandit and kneels down next to him. Moving her fingers in the air she chants subtly as she casts her spell. "Your future is being determined." She tells the human. "What do you have to say?"
-----"Hey! I'm a farmer." Sol grumbles lightheartedly, "Or was. What I'm saying is that people don't usually mistake bandits fer hazy spirits o' th' night, that's all. Even us farmers. I just feel there's more than this out there." He watches for a moment, before pursing his lips slightly, noting the bewitching magic being cast on the bandit.
-----A sprinkle of golden light falls from the mage’s fingers and briefly illuminates the man’s face. The man blinks his eyes and his mouth opens in awe. His face appears prickly with the short sparse whiskers of his beard.
-----"Aye, MiLady," he says to Sarah fully entranced with her, "What would ye ‘ave me say?"
-----Sol rather quickly switches his attention back to Raven, moving up to watch and maybe even help with the friendly game of questions and answers.
-----"Tell me why you're here." Sarah says flatly. "Who your leader is, who is above him, what your purpose is, and why I shouldn't kill you."
-----The man looks into Sarah’s eyes and speaks with as much honesty as he can muster. "We be a band o’ men takin’ what’s we can. We go wit’ no leader, just a’ followin’ whats we wants, we do. We come from Redmarsh whar th’ Lords o’ Hearthorn turn from us. We hears o’ orcs a’ takin to the north in Oakwood n’ come to find what’s been left af’tn they done pillagin’."
-----"What else have ye heard is in th' area?" Sol asks the same man. Not content with the one question, he asks several more, "Are there any areas nearby that ye've been told t'stay clear of? Do ye know o' someone by th' name o' Devlin? Why would ye chance being in an area that was supposed t'have been cleared by orcs and th' like, and who told ye that they were doing th' clearing, and why were they clearing th' area?"
-----"Devlin, ye say? No, I knows no Devlin," the charmed bandit answers Sol, "T’ings been much worst in Redmarsh. Better’n us takin’ our chances here t’an to the southlands."
-----Sarah's eyes burn as she speaks. "What’s happening in Redmarsh? Tell me everything you know about a man named Krondor."
-----"I think we should keep up th' watch as planned fer th' rest o' the night, wi' maybe someone else keeping these ones in line." Sol says to his companions, before turning to speak to the bandit, "Tell us exactly what's happening down south in Redmarsh?"
-----The charmed one looks at Sarah and Sol before answering, "I knows no Krondor. As fer Redmarsh, t‘ere be orcs n’ trolls n’ draggins runnin’ a’muck. Most o’ th’ folk down t’ere been runnin’ n’ hidin’ w’ere they kin. Folks were callin’ n’ prayin’ fer the Lords o’ Hearthorn ta save ‘em, but most lost the faith in ‘em. E’en Zantar, the knight what lives in Redmarsh can’t do more’n hide out in ‘is town. Some folks been a’prayin’ maybe the Lords o’ Ravenhold’ll help out."
-----"You lying piece of cow dung," Romney growls under his breath, glaring at the speaking bandit, "There is no better part of Altoria than Hearthorn. Our own Sir Greene holds Lord Lambert and his court in the highest regard. More likely than not, scum such as yourselves have been plaguing the land and its fair people with lies."
-----"Alright then. Unless anyone has any other questions let's take this rabble back t'camp and get on wi' the night. Who's got th' last shift o' th' watch?" Sol asks before offering, "I'll stay up as well, and keep an eye on our guests."
-----Sarah waves her hand and the charm dissipates. "I'm sorry." She says to the charmed man, briefly as she returns to the log she was sitting on. Realizing how tired she is after the fight, Sarah studies her spells and goes straight to sleep, all worries of betrayal put off for another day.
