-----He points to the busy market stands, which line one side of the street. The stands continue back behind and take up a big area of the center of town. He looks from person to person awaiting their reply.
-----Gimplefwick gazes glumly at the bustling marketplace, then glances at his parrot as though seeking confirmation of what he had just heard from the dwarf. The diminutive pirate then turns to the other two and states, "Aye, there be pickins aplenty out there. But I'm thinkin that my light fingers might not be so skilled as the two of yers might be. I can however provide a distraction, makin yer jobs somewhat easier. I be skilled at distractions. If'n ye get caught at what yer doin, I might also be able to delay any pursuit. So what say ye, maties, do we have a partnership?"
-----He then grabs ahold of Pick’s arm and asks him if there are any guardsmen and what they look like.
-----"I’d be careful o’ anyone wearin’ armor, chain or heavier," The dwarf gruffly says.
-----Kazel asks if there are any watches above the crowd in the towers, or if there are any city watch in plain clothes.
-----Picks answers, "The only towers close ‘round to the market, be the one on the south side at the Market Gate, but they’re mostly watchin’ people comin’ in. There be watches movin’ through and pruty regular at that. You can identify ‘em easy enuff. Them worshippers of Joren are almost stupid in their honesty."
-----Kazel crosses her arms and watches the crowd in the marketplace, looking a little anxious as well. She turns to Gimplefwick, then to Seth, and says, "It's been a while for me, but we can use the ol' trick with Gimplefwick - the Dread Pirate Gimplefwick - distracting our mark while you or I make the move, and pass it to the third so the guards have nothing on us if we get nabbed... How's this sound to you?"
-----Sethenales says, "Yes, Dread Pirate Gimplefwick, I think it would be good to work as a team. Is it ok if I call you Dread for short?" He turns to Kazel and asks if she thinks it is a good idea also. "However we may need to consider our options a bit, as Dread thinks he is not as good as us at boosting purses. I unfortunately find that I am better at other things than boosting purses. I am better at picking and climbing. My usual technique is to play my harp in a tavern and watch the drinkers. I mark the very drunk and sleepy and later in the evening they are the ones I go for."
-----He then explains that, "I would also be good at creating a focus to channel the money into an area with music. However, Kazel, if that is also not your best skill, maybe we should wait until later and case a house or shop and then pillage the house? I heard on my way over that a lot of the rich folk live around the Open Hearth Inn. So I guess we could have a few options. Work the crowd at the market, find a house and case it and pillage it tonight or go to the inn and use my usual technique."
-----"Either way I have absolutely no money and I am starting to get a bit hungry. Oh and Dread, I don’t know that tune, but later on after we get some money, we could go to a tavern and if you hum a few bars, I’m sure I can work it out"
-----The dark eyes of the half-elven girl darts between looking at Sethenales and Gimplefwick. Then a smile slowly forms on her face.
-----"Ahem... I'd prefer a house or tavern over the market crowd, too myself," she glances at the others and pauses. "Though I could work the marketplace, if we must, but I wouldn't push my luck too far."
-----Gimplefwick looks at the other two thieves and replies, "Aye, I think it might be best if we concentrated our efforts on a house. Preferably a merchant's house if we can find one. I agree, it's too risky to try a mass pick pocket spree in the market place. Besides as soon as one of us got caught, everybody else would get paranoid and make it even more difficult. I have my own methods of making ends meet, but they be less than polite and I only use 'em on those who offend me. However, I am skilled at hiding and can serve as a good lookout for us."
-----After Picks leaves, Gimplefwick states, "Our good friend Picks was kind enough to part with some silver, so we can go get something to eat while we plan our escapade and choose a target." Gimplefwick shows the group the five silver that Picks (sort of) gave him.
-----Sethanales smiles at Dread's revelation, "And here I was thinking that you were not really up to boosting purses. By the way, you can call me Seth."
-----Seth turns to Kazel, "Um, in the bakery I overheard you mention you were from the West Side of town. Personally I’m a very, very cautious kind of guy when it comes to making a plan. And I think the first thing we need is a safe house, where if something goes wrong and we need to split up, we can all meet back at. I myself have only just arrived at this town. I am hoping, Kazel, that you might have such a place in mind?"
-----Seth seems to drift off for a moment staring into the alleyway, "Oh and I will need a small piece of pork fat or butter, just in case!"
