-----Gimplefwick grins at Seth's comment, "No, I'm not above liberating a few coins from my fellow man. Especially if it serves a good cause. Like placing said coins in my pockets."
-----Gimplefwick gazes out at the grouped merchants, "What I recommend is that we go have something to eat, and get Seth his pork fat while we eat. By the way, I know of a tavern or two where we can eat. We can also use those taverns as safe houses, if we split some of our proceeds with the patrons and the owner. Anyway, after we eat and acquaint ourselves with the area and routes surrounding wherever our safe house is going to be, I think we should each select a merchant to follow home. Perhaps one of us will find one who lives by himself, thus lowering our risk. In any case we need to watch the house fer awhile to see how many landlubbers there be in there. Then we familiarize ourselves with several escape routes from the area."
-----Gimplefwick eyes his parrot and plans further, "Then if Seth would be so good as to open a door for me, I think I could probably sneak in fairly quietly and subdue friend merchant, while one of you searches the house and helps me tie up the merchant, the other can keep a lookout for any trouble. If worst comes to worst, I have a rope and grappling hook we can use to escape by rooftop, if'n we get cut off from the street. I further think we should each take a seperate route to our safe house, just in case. If after a certain amount of time passes, we aren't all at the safe house, then we must figger that somebody got caught and the remaining two had best split up and run."
-----Gimplefwick looks momentarily uneasy with his lapse from pirate talk and fairly lucid speech, "Argh..what do ye think maties? Be it a plan?"
-----Kazel grins at Gimplefwick as he reveals his latest ill-gotten gains. "Nice one there, Dread Pirate."
-----She looks around the alley, starting to feel they've been staying for too long. "I personally know a tavern owner on the West Side, so there won't be a need to split with the patrons, at least. And there are some run-down houses in that neighbourhood, but I can't be sure of how safe or empty they are. I also have a place near that tavern, if we must meet in private." She then gives Seth and Gimplefwick a stern but funny look, "if you promise not to make a ruckus like you did in the bakery."
-----To what Gimplefwick said she says, "Sounds like a plan. Shall we get something to eat? It's getting chilly out here."
-----Seth smiles, "Wonderful! A most excellent Plan! As our most Dread-ful or is that Dreaded? - friend is about to buy us some lunch or was that breakfast? Nay! Last night's supper I promise I shall learn that most loved tune about a drunken sailor."
-----Seth bows and motions for Kazel and Gimplfwick to lead the way. "But," and now he gives Kazel a lop sided grin, "I promise not to make a "ruckus" at our new quarters! Unless of course someone makes a request."
-----Kazel rolls her eyes. "You'll have to find your own quarters, mister," she says. "I said a place to meet, not to lodge. And that's only if we have to! Let's be on our way now."
-----Seth laughs out loud and reaches for his harp but thinks better of it. "Of course I knew that!! But hey I have to stay somewhere."
-----The trio carefully moves out of the alley and the chilly air seems to push at their backs. On their right, they see three small businesses and a larger building take up the rest of the block. The larger building holds the wagons of a teamster.
-----On their left, they pass many of the stands of the market area. They can see goods of all sorts are sold here. Fruits, vegetables, dried flowers, hot pies, tanned leather, barrels of fish, . . . the items seem to be too numerous to mention! Somewhere the sound of music is heard over the general hustle and bustle. The aroma and smells prove to make a confusing mixture in the air.
-----They see people of all sorts as they move ahead. A group of five well-dressed men pass to their right. The air moving through their fine cloaks reveal the swords and daggers they are armed with.
-----A young man dressed in fancy clothes and a big floppy hat leans against one building surrounded by four young girls. The girls giggle and blush as they listen to every word the man says.
-----Mostly, in the streets, are the common peddlers wearing their tunics and tabards moving from place to place.
-----Along the next block, the young thieves pass more shops and stands. Another building, slightly larger than the others, houses a merchant selling farming implements. By this time, the group find themselves down close to the market gate that leads out of the town. On their right, at the edge of the market area, they see a small shrine dedicated to one of the deities.
