-----"A weapons merchant, you say?" Kazel says frowning a little. "This merchant wouldn't happen to be a dwarf, would it?" She seems quite concerned as she continues. "What I suggest is going after a merchant from out of town, perhaps in one of the inns near the docks..."
-----Gimplefwick nods his head at Kazel's suggestion, "Aye lass, it would be best if we could go after a foreign merchant. But this is a small town. Only two thousand people live here. It's probably not a hub of great commerce. The likelihood of finding a foreign merchant who has enough coin for our purposes is slim. Most likely all we'd find is turnip farmers come into the city to sell their produce. We can look if ye want, but I'm not real fond of the idea of breaking into an inn either. There be too many people who might be interferin' with us. Our best chance, I think, is to work in an isolated place with few numbers, so that we can maintain control if ought should go awry."
-----Seth listens attentively to both plans, "Well first thing, Dread, was this Merchant wearing a light blue cloak? The second thing is I really know very little about weapons, so I would be no good in the weapon shop. But I have a rope and a grapple and am very good at climbing. I think I could probably pick a lock with the wire, and if I was not able to we could just break in the window. Now Kazel's plan also sounds good because the merchants are not local and less likely to have the ear of the watch. What if we have a bite to eat, you know I am starving, and then go down to the docks and case some joints there? Our weapons expert can also visit the weapons merchant as well, so tonight we can go for the best opportunity?"
-----Seth thinks a little more. He turns and gives Dora May another big smile. He turns back to the group, "And you did know, Dread, that you have a very noticeable accent and wardrobe. Maybe we could prevail upon you to wear a landlubber’s outfit when we work. You know brown pants, brown shirt ... you get the picture?"
-----Braddok interrupts the conversation by bringing over some food and drinks with the assistance of a young barmaid. He hands Kazel, Seth, and Gimplefwick a drink as well as a plate holding a piece of meat, a potato, and a piece of bread. Before Gimplefwick can hand over his money, Braddok holds up one hand. He tells him and Seth, "This one is on the house, this time. All I ask is you look after Kazel. She’s one of the best." A smile widens between the slight jowls of his face.
-----Four more men enter the tavern. They wear the typical clothing of working citizens. They gather together on a bench by one of the walls and begin to talk quietly with one another, almost in whispered tones. One of the men stands up and calls across to Brad, "Barkeep, four ales for me and my friends?"
-----Braddok nods toward the man and replies, "Coming right up." He then turns and goes back to the bar.
-----Kazel opens her mouth to speak, then decides to simply thank Brad for his treat. She turns back to the group, looking a bit awkward. "A good man he is... I owe him quite a lot."
-----Turning to Gimplefwick she says, "What you say makes good sense Dread Pirate... but I'll want to see this weapons merchant that you staked out. Some places aren't to be touched... we want to make sure we don't get on the wrong side of this neighbourhood, if you know what I mean. Better if we go for the richer folks, foreign or no."
-----Gimplefwick looks suspiciously at Seth, "Shiver me timbers, what do ye mean about me clothes? I think the rest of ye are all dressed oddly. Me clothes are the latest in pirate garb. The height of fashion among swashbucklers and buccaneers." Gimplefwick flicks a piece of potato off of his garish silk vest and continues eating. "Arrr, be there any rum?"
-----Seth smiles at Dread's comment about his clothes. He quickly starts tucking into his meal as only the starving can do.
-----He also cuts one small piece of meat and one of bread. When he has finished everything on his plate except for the two slivers of food he stands up, "Umm Jakes time, as the Dread Pirate said, shiver me timbers and all that." Seth goes out the front.
-----Kazel frowns and starts to drum her fingers on the table as Sethanales leaves the tavern as well.
-----Seth returns quickly from outside and sits down.
-----Kazel then catches Seth's hand, dooming his attempt at stealing the fat off her meat. "All right! What's it with your pork fat?"
-----Seth replies, "Umm Pork Fat, well, you will see in time. So are we going to check out this weapons place?"
-----"Let's be off then," Kazel says finishing up her food. "And keep looking for any other merchants for likely marks, preferably ones more into expensive clothes than weapons and combat. There might be more of those types at the Open Hearth or back at the marketplace."
-----She glances over at the imposing looking man as she talks, and takes a closer look. The imposing looking man now has a drink and is sitting alone on a bench, sipping his drink with an angry scowl on his face.
