-----My father used to deal in documents, artwork and various curios. My mother was a very good singer and gave much pleasure from her talent.
-----One day the constabulary came and took my father away; something about one of his paintings not having the right signature on it. Anyway when my Mother got home, she flew into a great rage, and grabbed a great sword (that I never knew she had, let alone knew how to use).
-----She went to the town and infiltrated the lock up, freed my father and together they fought their way back to the edge of the forest. They killed many of the town constabulary, but maybe not enough.
-----They died in each other's arm from their many wounds on the edge of the forest. Naturally, I grabbed my pack and ran. It was not so long ago, but along the way I have found that both my parents had been teaching me many things, things that have become useful and helped me to survive. Anyway, yesterday this is where I have stopped running..."
-----Seth stops and seems to be staring off into the walls of the tavern ..
-----Kazel listens silently to Seth's tale, a look of sympathy on her face. "I see..." she tries to think of something to say. "Well, a harp and a book is no problem, of course."
-----After a moment she says, "When you have time perhaps you may want to know Dora May a little better. She might know a little about the flower shop that Picks didn't tell us..."
-----Seth smiles at Kazel, "Thanks for the offer, and yes I was thinking Dora May might be a good avenue to pursue to learn about the flower shop."
-----Gimplefwick smiles at his two companions hesitancy to join him and replies, "Ah well, maties, I suppose yer right. It would be hazardous fer us to go traipsing off to a mugging. Nor do I wish to slaughter someone over a minor slight. Now if you'll both excuse me, I'm off to the jakes, I'll be back momentarily."
-----Gimplefwick rises and walks out of the tavern.
-----Seth stares after Gimplefwick in surprise, "Dang, I hope he is not going to kill that man in the light blue cloak, it looks like he really wants to move fast."
-----Poor Seth shakes his head, "There’s a time for speed and there’s a time for just sitting back relaxing and thinking. And I’m an expert on when there’s a need for speed and it ain’t now!"
-----Upon rejoining them after his lengthy sojourn at the jakes, Kazel turns to Gimplefwick. "I hope you didn't get a bounty on your head... as your new friends, you'll understand our concern," she says half-jokingly.
-----Gimplefwick draws them aside and begins whispering a hurried plot, "Avast there maties, but I may have found the solution to all our problems. It would seem the on me way to the jakes I got lost and ended up on the same path as a passing merchant.
-----By pure chance, he owns a shop that would seem ideal for our venture. It has a second story window that I believe opens into his residence above the shop. Methinks he has only one apprentice, whether that apprentice stays with him or not, I don't know as yet. The house further has a back exit for a rapid departure and the second floor window as an alternate means of escape. That be the good news."
-----Gimplefwick looks speculatively at Seth and Kazel, "Now the bad news be that the man be a weapons merchant. Whether he has any skill or not, I do not know. I think a good idea might be for one of us to enter his shop as a prospective customer, determine if he has any skill with his weapons, look for any other safeguards he might be havin', such as guard dogs or whatnot, and then report back to the rest of us. If the pickins look good, then I say at nightfall, right before his shop closes, the person who went into his shop earlier goes back in again. Under the pretense of gettin a second look at the weapons. While the shopkeep is thus occupied, I'll climb up to the second story window and attempt to gain entrance through there. If'n I can't get in, then I'll lower a rope to whichever one of ye is the best at pickin locks. Since we have no tools, we'll have to use a bit of wire and hope fer the best. If worst comes to worst, I can always place some cloth up against the window and hit it with me elbow, that’ll muffle the sound of the glass breakin. I'll then find the merchants room and hide in it.
-----Whoever comes up with me can hide in another room and help me subdue the merchant when he gets ready to sleep fer the night. I doubts that he'll be carrying a weapon to bed with him, too much chance he'll be cuttin off his skull and cross bones. Meanwhile, the other one of us'll move around to the back and keep an eye peeled on our escape route. We'll tie up friend merchant, in the dark he shouldn't be recognizin' us, and question him as to where his gold be hidden. We can also help ourselves to whatever weapons we might have a hankerin' fer. We'll search the shop thoroughly, upstairs and downstairs, and then leave through the back exit, split up and meet back at yer tavern."
-----Gimplefwick, finally shutting up, looks at the other two and queries, "So what think ye, does it sound like a good plan?"
