-----The Dread Pirate’s first stone shoots across at the belligerent humanoid with the raised sword. The projectile smacks the beastly opponent squarely in the shoulder, injuring it. A pain filled howl goes up from the humanoid and it exposes its teeth and short tusks. It then turns and runs off toward one of the buildings of the ruined village.
-----Seth turns his head and looks back over his shoulder then turns back to this drama. He slings one of his shots at the green thing in the greased area, hoping to distract it and keep it from Gimplefwick....
-----The bullet from Seth’s sling makes a sickening crack as it hits the side of the struggling humanoid’s head. The thing’s head wobbles from the force and the recoil. A dark liquid begins to pour from its head and it appears to be in a very badly critical condition. It immediately lets go of its sword and shield, doing its best to prostrate itself in the magical slick area. With its head down before Seth and Kazel, it makes sounds as if gruffly whimpering.
-----Gimplefwick snarls at the sight of the last critter running away and proceeds to run after it, putting his sling away and drawing his cutlass as he goes. "Arrr..ye won't be ambushing anybody else, ye filthy dog," Gimplefwick pants out as he waddles after the humanoid at his full halfling pace.
-----"Watch out for more in those buildings!" Kazel yells as she strides forward and throws her knife with all her strength at the fleeing creature, hoping to get it in the back. Her weapon goes left of the creature into the bushes. She quickly draws forth another knife and throws. Frustratingly, the second weapon also misses its target. She glances at Seth for a second to see if he's okay, then runs after Gimplefwick with her short sword in hand.
-----Seth looks down at the whimpering green skin and yells out to the others, "What do we do with this one?
-----Kazel stops in her tracks, hesitates a bit then yells back, "Take its weapons and keep it on the ground!" She glances back and forth as she stands midway between Gimplefwick and Seth, trying to keep the Dread Pirate in sight while making sure the creature doesn't do anything tricky before it's disarmed.
-----Seth carefully edges around the greased area, reaches for the green skin and drags him out of the area. He carefully searches and takes away any weapons and gold or items the green skin may have.
-----Meanwhile, the fleeing humanoid has no trouble outrunning the Dread Pirate, ignorant of the wrath it may incur. It reaches the nearest building, one whose roof is still intact and seems to be structurally sound. The green humanoid opens up a door on the side of the building and retreats inside. The door slams behind it. There are two small windows on the side of the old house facing Gimplefwick as he approaches, but the inside is too dark to see anything within.
-----Gimplefwick hesitates at the sight of the closed door, having no wish to run straight into another ambush or trap. Before he can walk over to the corner of another building, Kazel runs past him and charges at the door. With a short leap, she jumps and kicks the door. The portal crashes in and Kazel waits a split second beside the door before diving in. She then deftly tumbles inside the old building.
-----Gimplefwick shrugs as Kazel kicks down the door and leaps inside. Seth then catches up to the Dread Pirate. They both hear Kazel call out, "Nothing here but that thing! Get in here!" Gimplefwick then draws his trusty cutlass and charges in afterwards.
-----As Seth and Gimplefwick enter the old building, they see Kazel nearest the door. The room takes up the entire interior of the structure. Hardly anything remains in the place except for broken pieces of wood that used to be furniture. The two thieves see the humanoid across the room from the trio. It has its sword drawn in its right hand while it holds its left hand up. It stands there watching them as it grits its teeth.
-----Seth reaches for his sling and waits to see what the green skin thing wants to say, ready to use his sling if it attacks Kazel. He takes the opportunity to catch his breath.
-----Gimplefwick stands for a few moments, silent for once, perplexed as to what to do with this new development. He then gestures at his cutlass and then the floor and then waves at the creature and its weapon. He then says to the others, "Arrr, what should we be doin with prisoners? It wouldn't be good to be draggin 'em into Lut. It'd attract all kinds of attention, especially from town guards and such. We could give 'em a fair trial and then hang 'em in the grand tradition of Dread Pirates, but that seems kinda merciless. Then again, they might kill the next group goin' through if we let 'em go. I hate to be sayin' it, but I think we'd best kill 'em for the sake of future travelers who might not be as fortunate as we were."
-----Hoping that the creature doesn't understand what he just said, Gimplefwick smiles reassuringly at it and motions again for it to put its weapon down and surrender.
