-----Farmer Jogler then begins taking an impromptu inventory. After he finishes with the jewelry, he looks over a couple of silk jackets, a barrel of apples, a box of dried fruit and a crate of spices. "Dis ist not what Jogler usually deals, but I give two hundred gold fer all dese!" A large loopy smile widens across his face. "You like deal, ja?!"
-----Perking up at the mention of gold, Gimplefwick replies, "What say you give us 250 gold and we throw in this marvelous orc. Why look at him. He's in the peak of good health, he's well mannered. Who wouldn't want such a creature? At least as a novelty item, he's worth that much more. It's a shame, letting such a fine orc go for such a low price, but we really can't cart him around with us forever, I suppose." Gimplefwick attempts to look sad at the thought of losing their newly acquired companion.
-----Glancing aside at his companions, Gimplefwick states, "I wonder if we'll even make it back to town or not. By now those landlubbers know whose got their goods. I'm sure that Calron didn't hold out for long against their persuasions. And since they know what we have, I wouldn't give a worthless orc's hide for our chances of getting back into town with this wagon. I say we ride the wagon to the outskirts of town and take a secret way in. We can then report into our boss and see what he has to say. If he's still around to talk that is."
-----"Well, I don’t think farmer Joggler's deal included the lead coins, and we do know where we can get our hands on some paint. Don't we?" Seth suddenly smiles, "I bet I know some rude people that have a crate just like this one full of weapons trying to work out what to do with them with their paint." He now begins to laugh a bit hysterically.
-----"No, me friend," Jogler begins chuckling, replying to the Dread Pirate, "dat vill not verk fer me. Vat kin I do vith dis orc? And vat vill da neighbors say, ‘O but my! Dere goes Jogler and hes orc servant?’ No, but Jogler must not draw attention ta himself. Dis woult be bad fer da trade."
-----The big man raises his eyebrows, "Better yet, ye takes da orc back ta Hearthorn. Ye gits da vord o’ bein’ da slayer o’ orcs!" The loopy smile returns to his face.
-----Jogler turns to the box of lead coins. He closes the lid looking at the marking on top. "Ahh . . . ," he says pointing for Seth to look, "Ye be right! Dis rune be marked inst black, dark ast night. De goods sent ta me hast da runes inst white ast da snow. Dis ist wrong goods fer Jogler!" He thumps the lid down and stands back from the box, hands on his hips and shaking his head.
-----Kazel clutches her hair as if in pain, as she listens to Jogler talk. "Maybe you're right, you don't need any more help drawing attention around here..." She mutters out of Jogler's range, then looks sideways at Seth when he suddenly bursts into his hysterical laugh. She takes a deep breath and turns to the Dread Pirate.
-----"Well Gimplefwick, what say we check out the guild hideout before entering the city. Maybe we can even dump the orc in there for them to deal with, for all I care."
-----Jogler interrupts good-naturedly, "Ye wish ta stay night inst da comfort o’ Jogler’s barn?" He extends his arm toward the small piles of hay in the above hayloft. "Jogler fix morning meal fer der orc slayers ‘fore ye go?"
-----He then points out certain items again. He waves his hand over the jewelry, silk jackets, apple barrel, the box of dried fruit and the crate of spices. "Vhat say ye? Two hundred gold?" he asks.
-----Seth smiles at him, "How about 230 gold and not only will we take away this crate of useless lead coins that could get you in trouble, but we will organize to get your original shipment of weapons here. But wait there is more, we will also take the orc with us when we leave. Any less gold and it would not be worth our while taking the foul and hideous creature with us."
-----"Ahh, . . . ye tink ta do da bargain wif Jogler?" Jogler says slightly frowning rubbing his beard. Suddenly a huge smile splashes across his face. "Ist done! Two hundred thurty gold fer you!" Jogler grabs Seth’s hand in his own and shakes it vigorously. The whole time the big man laughs, while Seth almost stumbles from the handshake, "You Jogler like!"
-----Kazel winces a bit, then smiles sweetly at the big man. "Anyway, we're orc slayers, after all. We'll take you up on your generous offer of lodging too. Right?" She looks at the others questioningly, including Jim.
-----Seth nods at Kazel's words. The boy also nods, not quite sure around the big farmer.
-----"Good, ist settled!" Jogler says brightly as he goes over to a side door. He opens it exposing a tool shed of sorts. He reaches up on a shelf and brings down a large bottle. "Da business ist finished! Ve celebrate wif drink, ja?" he announces with his excited, mammoth smile at the thieves.
-----Kazel's eyes widen a bit, then she decides to give up understanding the man. "Not quite. The business is finished when we have the gold." She says in an even tone of voice.
-----Gimplefwick eyes the fastidious farmer, "Aye, hand over the gold and ye get the loot. And I suppose we can take that orc off yer hands. By the way, you say you deal in weapons? Do ye by any chance have some caltrops for sale?"
