-----Seth shrugs and says, "No wine for me, friend Joggler, but I will play the harp for you though."
-----"Ahh, da young lady be accountin’ fer ya!" Jogler says smiling. He then shrugs and retreats to the side shed room. He brings forth a small wooden container and a sack over his shoulder. He sets the box down on an unloaded crate from the wagon. He sets the sack down by it and the contents inside slightly jingles with a metallic sound.
-----He then looks at the Dread Pirate. "Veapons ye say? Ja, Jogler moves za veapons, but look vhat dey bring poor Jogler ta sell. A few shields, a few stick ‘em svords und look ast zem!" Jogler points at the weapons the thieves took from the orcs. "Very poor on za quality." Jogler shakes his head and makes a tisk, tisking sound. He then winks and smiles at Gimplefwick saying, "So no, me friends, no clever litzle tings fer da peoples ta steps on."
-----Jogler then extends his arm toward Seth. "Pleaze, me friend, a litzle moozac ta count za coinz by!"
-----He then commences to count out the two hundred and thirty gold pieces to the thieves. As he begins, Jim looks like he would rather hear iron nails scrap across bare metal. When he finishes, Jogler says, "Now ift za young lady woult be happy, mayhaps ye all join Jogler fer da dinner meal? Zen ve prepare za barn fer yer night-night stay?" He looks at the thieves with his loopy grin.
-----Seth looks at Kazel, "I guess dinner couldn't hurt could it?" He now turns to Gimplefwick, "Maybe if there is a blacksmith you could get him to join nails together to make caltrops..."
-----Kazel checks over the gold coins as Jogler counts before giving a thumbs up for approval. "Can't argue with an edible free meal, but it's a little early for me," she replies to Seth as she gathers the swords and shields liberated from the orcs. "I'm going to the weaponsmith and ask him about these. Anyone want to come? Maybe he'll have some caltrops, too."
-----Gimplefwick nods, "Aye, I'll come along. Doesn't hurt to check. But if we stay in his barn tonight, I say we still keep a good watch out fer anybody that might be followin us."
-----Seth agrees, "Good ideas, but I’ll stay here in the barn and watch over the money, unless you think we should carry it with us through town that is."
-----They finally decide to have Jim keep an eye on their money. The trio walks out of the barn leaving the boy to help Jogler store the goods he bought from the thieves. They walk across the grassy field toward the dirt road that runs back to the center of the village. Each thief hoists one of the orcs’ sword and shield, so they look like a small humorous troop.
-----The sky continues to be very cloudy and it appears there is about another hour before the sun sets. The gentle breeze tells them it will be quite chilly later in the night.
-----Their walk is not a long one. Soon they pass two farmhouses on each side of the road and see the small businesses up ahead. The first one they pass on their left appears to be the home of a fine tailor. It seems strange to see a place such as this in a small village. Just beyond this store is a cobbler’s place. Across the road from the cobbler’s is the local barber. Next to the barber’s is the weaponsmith they are looking for.
-----Entering the shop, they see a man with black hair and a beard working. He briskly sweeps the floor with a broom in his stout hairy arms. Looking up, he stiffly says, "Help ya? I’m closin’ soon." On the walls are hung interesting swords, daggers and shields.
-----Gimplefwick gazes at the shopkeeper disdainfully, "Aye, ye can close up shop when we're done here. Now on to business. I'm looking for a few caltrops, or something of the like to scatter on the road if I happen to be chased by vermin or persons of low intent." Gimplefwick pauses to sniff, then rubs his index finger along the side of his nose and glances at the shopkeeper meaningfully, "I'll soon be taking a trip to Hearthorn and have no desire to have those verminous orcs hereabouts chasing me the entire trip. Or disturbing my sleep for that matter. Now, shopkeep, tell me, do you have any items of that sort?" Gimplefwick again rubs the side of his nose with his index finger and darts another glance at the owner of the shop.
-----Seth, while not too used to Gimplefwick’s violent ways is becoming a little bit more adventurous in being impolite and saucy. "Yeah Mister, You better listen to Dread Pirate!"
-----"Speaking of vermins, we got some swords and shields pried from their dead and bloody hands." Kazel flips the sword around and hands it pommel first to the shopkeeper along with the shield. "What might these be worth to you?"
-----While she waits for his reply, she starts looking around at the hanging weapons to inspect their quality, silently comparing them to the ones in the shops of Hearthorn.
