-----"Very well," the man in blue says, with an icy cold look at the halfling pirate, "I shall bring the watch here. Enjoy yourself here as long as you wish." With that, he motions to the larger man with him and they both leave through the front door.
-----After a few moments of silence, the seemingly stunned patrons sit back down and go about their business of drinking.
-----Gimplefwick grins at the pair's retreating backs and says, "That's right, run home to momma." He then links his fingers together in front of his face and flexes them outward, showing his complete unconcern at the previous proceedings.
-----He then glances over at Seth and whispers, "I'd be willing to bet they'll come after us pretty soon now. If for no other reason than they've been made to look the part of fools. Fortunately, we know that they're coming, so we can set the battleground in our favor. I propose that we prevail upon Brad to let us spend the night here and we prepare the room for any unexpected visitors. We can discuss the details in private, so as to avoid any listening ears."
-----"So you come back in town, and meet everyone first before me?" Kazel says in mock exasperation as she sits at the bar next to Seth and Gimplefwick. She leans closer, with her gaze on Brad but speaking to all three, "how about another place to talk instead? Unless you plan to deal with the guards when they come..."
-----Gimplefwick blinks at Kazel in astonishment, "Do ye seriously think those buffoons went to fetch the guards? Those were some of the scurvy assassins. The last thing they want is for the guards to show up. They know who the responsible party is and they left so that they wouldn't get caught. I think we be safe enough here for now. At least while the tavern is occupied."
-----Seth turns to Gimplefwick. " Well, my piratical friend, are you certain every coin in your purse is real? I am beginning to think you have a double around town. Or are you doing a bit on the side and not telling your friends? In the meantime I am going to find some pork fat, then belt out a few more tunes. I owe that to Brad!" Seth continues to scour the tavern for some fat. He brushes close to Kazel and secretly hands her eleven gold pieces, not wanting to let anyone in the tavern know she is associated with the Dread Pirate and himself yet. He finds three pieces of fat on a plate and returns to the area where he was harping and makes an announcement. "Dear patrons, we are sorry for the interruption of our entertainment. Please sit back, relax and order another ale. Let me entertain you." Seth then begins to harp a strange melody and sings the first verse. ..Money.. It’s a Drag...
-----Brad replies to Kazel, "If you need a private place to talk, there’s always the back room, but I agree with our friend here." He points to Gimplefwick. "I have a feeling we may not see those two again tonight." Brad places his hand on his chin and squints toward the door in deep thought.
-----"Oh sorry, luv!" comes a tipsy female voice and Kazel slightly jerks as someone bumps into her. Turning, the thieves see the woman in the low cut dress standing at the bar beside Kazel with a slightly drunken mercenary trying to balance her. "Barkeep, this most handsome chap behind me is orderin’ me another ale!" She slightly weaves as she slings one arm around the armored man’s neck.
-----The brazen wench then looks at the Dread Pirate and Seth and smiles a loopy grin. "Aye, sing us another song, me merry lads!" She begins to wave her free hand in the air as if conducting an orchestra.
-----Stopping, she looks at Kazel and slurs out, "Best grab a young one and dance, honey! The pickin’s good this night!"
-----"They're what?" Kazel looks at Gimplefwick, frowning and with a puzzled look on her face. "Look, mister, I don't care if you really deal in false coins or not. This tavern Brad runs here handles a pretty rough crowd. But even if you're new in town, you'd know that guards and angry sausage merchants or 'assassins' as you like ain't good for business, yours or Brad's." As she talks with her back to the drunk woman, she rolls her eyes murderously in the direction of the woman behind her, and with her arms crossed, raises her thumb and makes a slight throat slitting motion. She then grunts and turns away, continuing with, "Just try not to make any trouble around here."
-----Kazel smiles dismissively at the woman's comment after she bumped into her. "Na, another night. Right now I'm here just for the drinks." She winks at Brad. "Maybe Brad here can fix some real special stuff for you, too."
-----Seth continues to play what he thinks is 'beer drinking' music. While it is not what he was taught he is enjoying the simple tunes and the pleasure people have from joining in with raucous lyrics, especially the Dread Pirate’s. As he plays, he carefully scans the crowd looking for more trouble and possible marks to pick pocket.
-----Between songs he slips two pieces of the pork fat into his pouch, he keeps one in the palm of his left hand, the one he holds the harp with.
