-----Picks gathers a suspicious look on his face as the three thieves tell their story. As Kazel sets the long sword out on the table, the dwarf’s eyes glow in wonder. He begins to help Kazel clean her wound and tells her, "Say, that’s some sword! How ‘bout ya take a watch later and I’ll polish it up fer ya? Ya thinkin’ a sellin’ it?"
-----Seth rolls up the scroll and puts it back in its case. He hands Gimplefwick and Kazel 5 pieces of gold each. "Well I think I found out where those stones came from." He pours the ten black stones on to the table. He moves three towards Picks. "That be the Guild’s share, Master Picks. Could we get a receipt for them stones?" He then puts two back in the pouch and hands Kazel and Gimplefwick two each.
-----He leans back in his chair thinking, staring at the ceiling, "Kazel, you mentioned a few days ago something about a disturbance in the country side, strange animal goings on.. What exactly did you mean? Because that merchant seemed to be scared of catching something, something called Lycanthropy!!! Mmm, is that sword silver per chance?" He asks as he gazes at Kazel's new sword.
-----Waiting for Kazel's reply, he places a second sword on the table. "Well, what do you all think of this sword since we are admiring swords. As you know I am a little ignorant when comes to these things...I took this from the merchant before he ran away."
-----Kazel smiles and takes the coins from Seth, winking at him for thanks. She sighs and starts to happily spin a coin on her fingertips when she suddenly gasps, wincing as she drops the coin on the table. Pocketing the coins, she decides to return her attention to the cleaning and bandaging.
-----As she watches Picks clean her wound she answers Seth, "About those animal disturbances, seems that some of them were going wild, especially out in the country. Some knight got hurt a while ago while jousting at the festival. That's about all I heard." She shrugs and looks up at Seth. "What's it say on the scrolls?"
-----When Picks has finished helping she picks up the long sword and stands up, then twirls it around a few times and stares at it in the candlelight for a moment. "Nope, not silver. Or it would have chipped when it hit my sword. Besides, the only sure way to kill a lycanthrope is to chop off its head and boil it for ten thousand years, while feeding the rest of the body to an ancient platinum dragon and sacrificing a full blooded grey elf. That's what a street bum once told me." She then takes a closer look at the merchant's sword and examines it for a while, comparing it to the woman's sword. "Anyway," she smiles at Picks as she sheaths the long sword and strapping on the scabbard onto her back with the rest of her arsenal. "Thanks for patching me up, but this sword has my name on it in more ways than one. And I want to take it to my friend who's rather good at looking at these things. Unless you can tell me something about it that I don't know?"
-----Seth smiles as Kazel whirls with her sword, "The scroll is imbued with magic from what I can gather with my meager knowledge is that it contains a spell of protection against Lycanthrops." He hands the merchant's sword to Gimplefwick for his comments. "You know that street bum - he was a half elf right?"
-----Gimplefwick peers curiously at the sword that Seth has handed him. He then swings it over his head and whirls it about several times in the air. He takes a few practice lunges and strikes several martial looking poses with the blade. He then lightly hacks at the wooden table with the sword and closely inspects the damage. After peering at the splintered table, he then runs his tongue along the flat of the blade and dons a thoughtful countenance. Handing the sword back to Seth, he remarks, "I think it’s a sword, but you might want to consult a professional."
-----Seth bows to Gimplefwick’s superior knowledge, "Well, be it a sword or not, it is not something I want. Here Picks, you can have it for 20 gold." He then turns and offers it to Picks.
-----Picks rolls his eyes at the Dread Pirate’s comments and looks mournfully as Kazel puts the sword away. Waving off Seth’s offer, the dwarf says with dourness, "Well, ya wantin’ ta take a turn at the watch tonight?" Suddenly remembering something Seth asked for, he turns toward the half-elven musician and growls, "receipt for the stones? What do ya think this is, a countin’ house? And what’re ya gonna do with a receipt from the thieves guild of Hearthorn?"
-----Seth holds out his hands for the return of the stones. "If we are to pay a percentage of our take to the guild, then a receipt or book entry must be made. Otherwise, how could we prove that we had paid our dues, when we give you a take and then Dora May comes in and says 'where is the guild’s share and we say we just gave it you. How do we prove it?"
