-----"He's right, you know," Kazel says as she plays around with the crossbow. "The wise street bum would agree, and he's a dwarf, too. One of them anyway." She then puts down the bow and starts to nose around the papers Picks was looking at. In a more serious tone she asks, "So what is Wain up to in town?"
-----Gimplefwick clambers up among the papers on the table and makes a little nest for himself amongst the clutter. "Well, I'm for a good night’s rest. Then maybe some training in the morning and a talk with Wain, if he's back by then." Saying no more, Gimplefwick starts to snooze on the tabletop.
-----"Well, Dora May ain’t taken care o’ the guild money, I am!" the dwarf stiffly answers Seth. "Fine," he adds throwing up his hands, "find me some paper and I’ll write it fer ya!"
-----Turning toward Kazel, Picks says, "I don’t know what Wain is doin’. That be his business!"
-----As the Dread Pirate makes a bed on top of the table, Picks puts his hands on his hips and fumes.
-----Gimplefwick blinks blearily at the dwarf, "Say there, matey. Could ye be keepin it down a bit. I'm trying to sleep here. By the way, I like eggs and sausage for breakfast. But don't wake me too early in the morning. It's been a long couple o' days. Around noonish oughta be fine."
-----Gimplefwick then smacks the accumulated papers a bit with his fist, making a rough sort of pillow. He then lays his head down and commences snoring.
-----Seth surveys the room and begins a quest of examining every piece of paper in the room he can find, carefully making a pile of very interesting papers to study later on and papers of no import. The paper he finds suitable for Picks to write on, he places under the table for later.
-----"Oh Picks, there is something I was going to ask Wain, but since you are taking care o' the guild money, do you have a form for us to submit a claim for reimbursments for expenses? See, we had to hire some mercenaries and well it was quite expensive!" Seth watches Picks become more upset and at a crucial point intercedes. "Well maybe we can just forget about all these invoices and receipts and reimbursements. How about we keep the guild’s share of three of these shiny black stones and call it square?"
-----Kazel gives Seth a somewhat funny look, then shrugs and decides to let the wound rest for the night. She picks a dark corner of the room, sits with her back against the wall and curls up her knees, mumbling as she falls asleep. "Let them do the watch, I'll just fight whatever..."
-----Kazel and Gimplefwick fall asleep to the sound of the dwarf throwing the stones at Seth and storming out of the room.
-----Seth falls asleep on top of one of the cabinets in the corner with some of the papers he accumulated spread across his chest.
-----The next morning, the Dread Pirate awakes to two large eyes staring him in the face. A high voice mimics a low bird’s voice saying, "Hoody Hoot!" As Gimplefwick scrambles, it awakens the other two thieves and they see the Fly atop the table over the Dread Pirate.
-----Kazel manages a laugh despite the numbing pain in her arm. Suddenly she is aware of a dark form standing beside her in the shadows. She looks up and sees the darkened face of Wain, the Guildmaster, staring down at her.
-----Gimplefwick scowls at the Fly and states, "Garrr, if'n that ain't the ugliest way to wake up in the world, I don't know what is." The Dread Pirate then crawls off the table and glances at Wain, "Shiver me timbers, if it isn't the GuildMaster himself. We've got some good news and some bad news. Actually, I guess it's pretty much all bad news, but what are ya gonna do?"
-----Gimplefwick shrugs and continues, "It seems that those assassins, callin themselves the Fire Knives, are the ones spreadin those false coins about the town. Besides destroying the local economy, they be blaming us for it. Sadly, while we were having a discussion about it, a couple of them became distraught and fell over dead. I think they are probably really angry about it by now. Anyway, I believe their leader is named Nodeus or something like that. That’s about it in a nutshell."
-----The diminutive pirate looks about for something to eat and states, "Arrr. I almost forgot meself. I could use a bit of trainin today as well."
-----Kazel squints sleepily at Wain for a second before climbing up and dusting herself off. "Say, you look darker than usual. Have you been staying out of the shadows like what you're not doing now?" She stands to her full height coming to the level of Wain's chin, and looking up examines him left and right for a bit. "You've something to say now, don't you...?"
-----She stifles a yawn and groggily leans back against the wall on her good side as she waits for Wain or the Fly to speak.
-----Seth peers out from under the papers he slept with and senses that now would not be a good time to talk from the look on Wain's face. He waits silently for Wain's explosion.
