-----Sol motions for Rinda, Kazel and Sarah to follow, before taking the rear and leaving with everyone. Occasionally he looks over his shoulder to make sure nothing follows.
-----Sarah obediently falls into formation, looking over her shoulder all the way out.
-----Rinda steps over to Sol handing him the torch. She then follows the others out.
-----Within a few moments, the entire party stands outside and everyone pauses to let their eyes adjust to the sunlight shining down through the clouds.
-----Rinda moves over toward Seth where he stands beside the coffer he dragged out of the cave. "I do have a blessing from the Great Hunter that would slow the working of poison in a person," She tells him, "although it would not take the poison from the victim."
-----The Dread Pirate stands a few feet away with his coffer in front of him. Uncorking a small vial, he dumps some of his acid on the latch and then watches interestedly to see what happens.
-----A small amount of smoke is seen steaming up from the metal as a slight hissing sound is heard. A bit of bubbling occurs in one place below the latch, which subsides after the better part of a minute. Then the latch itself seems to fall forward as the acid burns it in two. With a kick, the Dread Pirate dislodges the lid of the container and the lid falls back revealing the contents of the coffer.
-----There, the warm sunlight is reflected from the pile of gold coins within. Looking closer there also appears to be a parchment of some sort held to the inside of the lid by a leather strap.
-----Seth basks in the light of the gold, thinking thoughts of a new emporium where naked clients lounge in a room filled with light reflected from walls of beaten gold... "Well, Dread Pirate, it looks like the parrot wins again, shall we try the other boxes?" He momentarily drags his eyes away from the gold to look at Sarah, "In my experience, writings and scroll with money sometimes are 'magical traps'. It might be best if you examined the scroll."
-----The Dread Pirate looks momentarily worried at the thought of magical traps, then snickers as Seth volunteers Sarah to go check it out, "Aye, why don't ye take a look at it Sarah, me darlin. If'n it blows up, the gold should still be fine. If it were me, I'd take a long stick and pry that piece o' parchment off o' there, but I've never seen anyone explode before. It should be interestin."
-----The Dread Pirate then goes and dumps some acid in the other locks, then steps back to view the results. From the other two coffers comes the mixture of smoking, hissing and bubbling reactions. With a bit more confidence in his manner, the Dread Pirate kicks the lids back off the coffers revealing more gold. The only difference discovered is that there are no pieces of parchment in the other two coffers.
-----Sarah arches her eyebrows at Seth’s suggestion. "Sure, I'll look it over. But I'm not reaching in there and grabbing it." As the Dread Pirate speaks she looks rather nervous.
-----Seth picks up the parchment and suggests, "If there is a seal, sometimes that causes destruction as well," as he hands it to Sarah.
-----With all the talk of exploding paper, Sarah looks at the parchment once briefly before looking away again immediately. Finding that she didn't blow up, she looks at it again more in depth trying to figure out what it says or does.
-----"Sometimes if you unfurl it too quickly, ye may get a paper cut." Sol just grins, completely at peace with the fact he's being rather silly. He bends down to wipe his bloodied sword clean, before resheathing it.
-----As Sarah begins reading, an angry look comes over her face. "What is it, Sarah?" Rinda asks her.
-----The Dread Pirate greedily surveys the newfound gold, perhaps dreaming of a new galleon.
-----Sarah tosses the parchment to Rinda. "It’s from 'K,' who I am guessing is Krondor to a certain Dark Mistress who I'm guessing is Devlin. It says to proceed to 'Nox.' And I have no idea where that is." Sarah kicks at one of the coffers. "This is probably blood money." She says grimly.
-----Sol snorts in derision, "I knew it. Krondor was a whole separate part of our mission and important enough not t'have been reduced to th' walking dead. If this is from Krondor..." Sol pauses to think for a while, before continuing,"...then maybe Nox is in Redmarsh. That's where we were told he might be. We should probably move on now. We need to catch as many of th' Dark at th' cave as we can."
-----Seth, eyeing the gold, suggests, "We had better secure this gold somewhere safe where the dark cannot get their hands upon it again."
-----Sol nods his agreement, "Yeah, we can take it with us and leave it wi' Sir Greene. He's the one in th' position to make sure it's put t'good use."
-----"Good idea!" Sarah says, endorsing Sol’s plan.
-----The Dread Pirate shrugs at Sol's suggestion, "Aye, if'n ye want to give away yer share, that' fine with me. I'll be storin mine way fer meself though. Ye never know when a huge pile o' gold might come in handy. If we keep findin sacks o' platinum and gold everywhere, I'll soon be able to buy me own ship."
