-----Sol looks slightly pained as he speaks to Gimplefwick, "Dread, where this gold is concerned, there are no shares. The orcs have been working with the Dark, helping them raid the locals and the like. The money is theirs...not ours. Sir Greene can ensure that they get it back, one way or another. Surely wi' the platinum we found as well as your payment on completion o' th' mission is enough."
-----Seth just shrugs and goes to the coffers and runs the gold through his hands and then back into the coffers. While he plays with the gold he sings a well-known Dwarven drinking song about working and toiling long hours in the diamond mine, only to find one diamond. The song goes on how when he sells the diamond to the agent he takes his 10 % cut. He then goes to the provisions store and pays off his debt. He then goes to the owner of the mine and pays his rent on his lease. He then goes home to his wife to give her money to get her beard trimmed and pay for all of the rocks his kids broke in the neighbor’s fields. With his last remaining silver piece, he heads to the tavern and buys the best mead. His first gulp of beer is disturbed as he overhears the agent and a gnome jeweler celebrating their sale of the said diamond set in a ring to an Elven princess for 100 times what the dwarf was paid. All and all, it is a song of pecuniary despair.
-----At the end of his song Seth shuts the lid on the coffers and looks around. "Maybe Dread and I can bury the treasure here. When we are finished with this cave, we can dig it up and cart it to Greene. It is too bulky to carry with us and too risky to leave it out here. Dread and I can set all manner of devious traps to stop the dark getting the treasure back."
-----"Ye never know when a huge pile of gold might come in handy..." Sarah laughs lightheartedly as she imitates the Dread Pirate.
-----"So how much gold is here? Has anyone counted it yet?" Sarah decides the group has enough time to count it and begins doing so.
-----The Dread Pirate nods sagaciously at Sol's plan for the gold, "Aye, that'd be fine thing to do with the gold, give it all back to those from whom it was stolen. Sadly, there be no way to really tell who those folk are. It'd probably end up in the hands of some mountebank or charlatan. Or it'd never leave the lawful authorities’ hands for much the same reason. The best thing to do would be to split it up and each decide what to do with our share. If you want to give yours away, that be fine with me. But this is not a dictatorship yer runnin and ye won't tell me what do with me loot. I applaud yer noble sentiments, but fear them impractical at best. No, I'm afraid that after the risks we've taken and the expenses I've incurred, I have to take me share fer meself. Besides which, I won't be gettin the same reward that ye'll be gettin fer this little jaunt. There’s a price to be paid fer the novelty items that I've brought on this trip. And that’s a certain percentage of what I make. So, in essence, no, the reward we'll be gettin at the end isn't enough. But I'll be more than happy to help Seth rig up some traps fer it til we can come back fer it."
-----The Dread Pirate then goes over to count over Sarah's shoulder.
-----"Okay, guys, how about this?" Sarah the mediator quickly intervenes. "We split the gold in half. Half the gold goes directly to Sir Greene, and the other half we split into shares for ourselves to do whatever we want with?"
-----"By the way Dread, I've been meaning to speak to you about those interesting things you have..."
-----"This is not loot! This money is not ours." Sol says in an outburst, glancing at Sarah before looking back to the pirate, "How hard is that t'comprehend. Dread, if th' bloody money is so damn important, ye can bloody well have my share of the mission reward. What it comes down to, is that ye agreed t'do th' mission with th' offered reward. Ye knew that risks would have t'be taken. Ye can't claim money ye know isn't yours." He huffs before amending, "Well ye can, but it just isn't right."
-----The Dread Pirate slaps his forehead, "Arrr, I'm willin to go along with what Sarah suggested. As far as this gold goes, ye'll never honestly find anyone who it'd rightfully belong to. What was yer plan? To go from town to town with a sign hangin around yer neck sayin 'Free Gold'. If we can't give it to who it rightfully belongs to, we may as well keep it and put it to good use ourselves. I don't see any difference between Sir Greene getting the loot and ourselves keeping it. Do ye think Sir Greene will stop whatever it is he's doin and run about from town to town handin out gold? But in the interest of compromise, I'll give up half of it fer Sir Greene anyway."
-----Gimplewick continues muttering, then states, "Aye, I agreed to do the job fer the stated reward. But nothing was ever said about turning in every copper we find along the way. And I won't be takin yer reward money either. That's not right. This, however, is found money, which we have no way of determining the rightful owner of. So we might as well enjoy it."
-----Turning to Sarah, the Dread Pirate states, "As fer what’s left in me backpack, there isn't much. All I had was a bit of glue, some acid, a couple flasks of oil, and some other odds and ends that I've picked up here and there. The glue is gone, as is the acid and the oil. I have left a potion that nobody in their right mind would want, an arrow that I can't use, some sleepin concoction a herbalist whipped up fer me, and not much else worth mentionin."
