-----Sarah doesn't say much, she lets Raven and Sol do the talking. There is too much going through her head. Aaron’s betrayal she had somewhat been expecting, just not so suddenly. And then there was that new book, if only she could have kept reading it. And then there was Sol...Sarah shakes her head, where did that thought come from? She rubs her eyes and blames it on her lack of sleep the night before.
-----"How fares your temple?" Sarah says suddenly. "Is it still surrounded by the dark?"
-----Rau’Triel looks at Sarah with an amazed expression. "Why no, MiLady, the Temple of Law and Records is quite secure," he says in a quiet voice. It is one of the few times the priest seems almost speechless.
-----Rau’Triel then excuses the woodsmen telling them they may return to their homes and work. The Law Priest then leads the party toward the temple. Some of the underlings of Rau’triel there look after the newest set of prisoners.
-----Inside, as food is hastily laid out on a large table, a nervous looking scribe strolls around the adventurers trying to write down every word that they answer Rau’triel’s questions with. The questioning seems a bit tedious as the Priest presses for details of what occurred at the Dark cave.
-----As they begin to eat, Sarah bids farewell to Raven and Sol, telling them she will be back later. Abram jumps up and escorts the young mage out.
-----Romney speaks up during the questioning, mainly to Raven and Sol. "I have spoken to Shema and Abram. We have agreed that it would be an honor to accompany you southward since this is of great urgency to all of Hearthorn. However, if you would allow us to return to Oakwood this day, we would be able to seek permission from Sir Greene."
-----Raven looks over at Romney, "Aye that would be fine. It will be good to have you with us."
-----Sol smiles in welcome, "Absolutely. Sounds like Redmarsh is going to be interesting t'say th' least." The warrior then focuses on the food in front of him.
-----"Will you ride with us back to Oakwood after we eat?" Romney asks. A chuckle escapes him as he says, "We have encountered the most curious things on our journey with you."
-----"Redmarsh, eh?" Rau’Triel muses, "What business do you have there, if you do not mind me asking?" Looking at both Raven and Sol, he also asks, "Do you need to see the maps I have of the region to the south?"
-----Though he looks at Raven for confirmation, Sol replies to Romney, "Yes. We're coming back wi' ye t'Oakwood." He then looks at the priest, Rau'Triel, and smiles patiently, "I don't think we need to see any maps. We actually know where we're going this time. Stopping Devlin and her goddess' dark influence was only half o' our mission. We're also after th' criminal Krondor, who was in league with th' Dark. Th' two captured men-at-arms are his men, an' they provided us with his whereabouts. A keep, some miles to th' east o' Nox."
-----After finishing a mouthful, Sol glances at Raven and speculates, "Ye know, Raven, I was hoping to catch a few others at Devlin's meeting...People like Heiros, 'Lightning', th' fried gargoyle and th' faceless one." At any odd stares he adds, "Except fer Heiros, they're ones who remain alive from when they attacked us at th' keep we took two nights ago."
-----Raven takes a drink of water and then says, "Maybe we'll cross their paths when we face Krondor." Raven turns to Rau'Triel, "Krondor is a villain of the worst sort. That is all the breath I will waste on Krondor."
-----Raven takes another drink and then continues, "Actually I would like to see what maps and information you have on Redmarsh." Raven turns to Sol, "Never hurts to know your prey's hunting ground."
-----Sol nods, "Yer right...I suppose I'm overly fond o' getting things done too quick fer my own good."
-----"Are you documenting his words?" Rau’Triel sternly asks the jittery scribe. The underling nods quickly as his pen scratches furiously at the parchment. The Law Priest then yells for another follower. In the same breath, he orders, "Bring me the map of Redmarsh north of the Altor River!"
-----As he waits, he tells the two adventurers and the two guards waiting with them, "You do know that the general landforms of Redmarsh are unwholesome to say the least. There are many bogs and swamps that you may transverse before you reach . . what did you say. . . a village called Nox?"
-----As the follower approaches with the map, Rau’Triel grabs it from his hands. As he unfurls it, he repeats Sol’s description. "A keep . . . that is . . . some miles . . . to the east . . . of Nox. Ah, there is the village, but . . . I see no keep indicated. How many miles did you say this keep was?"
-----While he waits, Rau’Triel stares with disappointment at the map, "By the Treaty of Bolane, why is the keep not marked on this map?" The Law Priest glares around dramatically as his followers try to avoid his eyes.
