-----Seth hands Krord ten gold pieces remaining from the pouch and mumbles to him, "Even though you were resting, here is your bonus as well." A bit louder so all hear, "There may be trouble ahead, follow my lead and say nothing."
-----He then approaches Dread and the ranking temple guard he is talking to. He walks up and produces a bow worthy of the High Court in Hearthorn. "Greetings fellow citizens, how is your day progressing? Hopefully in the light of mighty Joren?"
-----The Dread Pirate grins at Seth's approach and states, "Hello Seth. We be havin a bit o' trouble here with the temple. There's a demon witch who seems to have lodged herself up on the third floor and is killin everybody that goes up there. I, ummm, sort o' volunteered us fer the task o' temple cleanin, so to speak. The plan is that I take a pig bladder filled with pepper juice up there and fling it in her face. When she’s blinded, everybody else rushes up there and hacks her to bits. O' course I'll be usin Kaz's invisibility item, which she's gone off to get figured out. I think you and Kaz can probably wait on the second floor, since we can sneak about fairly well, but everybody else will have to wait on the ground floor, til they hear a scream."
-----When the Dread Pirate sees the pepper-bladders, his smile grows even broader and he says to Zharta, "Well, that wasn't too hard. If'n we have a volunteer, I'll try throwin one o' these and we'll see how well it works." The Dread Pirate hefts one of the pepper-bladders and prepares to wing it at somebody's head.
-----Seth's face moves to a 'white shade of pale' at the mention of a demonic witch... "Well, have you managed to acquire the crossbows?" and in a very quiet voice, "I take it there is some remuneration somewhere here for us?"
-----To the temple guard called Zharta, "Could you tell me how long she has been in there, what her name is and how she is killing everyone?"
-----The Dread Pirate responds, "Arrr, sadly, I've already told ye everything that we know. Except that she’s managed to kill two of their priests, who were armed and armored. They appeared to be horribly burnt and battered. As is the upper portion of the temple itself. As fer the bows, Marast has them."
-----Seth looks at Marast and then back at Dread "How many bows was that? As far as I counted, I wanted a light crossbow, Runik a heavy crossbow and Marast a long bow or were there more we needed?" He looks around for a building close by that they might be able to shoot from into the window. "If we can see into the window we might be able to shoot the witch or I could make her go to sleep or some such."
-----In a quiet whisper he adds, "We found the room of the wizards’, spell books, and gold coin. I split one bag of coin between the mercenaries for their bonus for the cheese battle and the chance of being blown up by the wizards trunks - they were magically trapped!"
-----Zharta bows to Seth, "Permit me to introduce myself. I am Zharta, Curate of the Holy Temple of Joren here in the Town of Oakwood. As for what manner of creature dwells in our tower I do not know. It was just that we became aware of something dangerous in the tower once the globe of darkness was dispelled. Ariella, a priestess of the god of magic, ventured forth to the tower determining that the darkness was magical in nature. I believe she succeeded, but we do not know her fate. I can only hope she is still alive, but I fear that as time goes on, it is only a fleeting hope."
-----A young templar guard steps forward volunteering to test the Dread Pirate’s peppered pig bladder. The Curate holds up his hand and frowns saying, "I do not think that will be necessary. Somehow I feel that what has been prepared will be quite adequate."
-----Marast moves quickly amongst a pile of weapons on the ground. He quickly retrieves a light crossbow and gives it to Seth. With a grimace and a snarl, he hands the chuckling Runik a heavy crossbow. The elf then hands Brandel a long bow and begins to hand another one to Krord. The huge guard looks down at the weapon and blinks with a confused look on his face. Thinking better of the situation, Marast shoulders the bow and stands aside with his arms crossed.
-----The Dread Pirate looks grumpily at the young templar knight, apparently unhappy at not getting to fling pig bladders at paladins, "Aye, well, if'n yer sure it'll work. Anyway, Seth, I'm glad ye got somethin out o' that wizard mess. But I don't think we stand much of a chance of hittin that witch tryin to shoot her through a third floor window when we can't even see her. Not to mention it might give her the idea to start shootin back at us. But it wouldn't be a bad idea for the templars down here to start shootin for about five minutes when we enter the building. That'd serve as a distraction from our gettin up there. But I guess we just wait fer Kazel to get back now. Oh, and Zharta mentioned that our 'friends' are headed towards the village of Visp."
-----Turning to Zharta, Gimplefwick queries, "Hrmm, what does this Ariella look like? We want to make sure that she doesn't get mixed up in this mess, when we go stormin up there. By the way, since ye've still got a priest here, I could use a bit o' healin. Me face is still a bit charred from some evil wizards we ran into."
