-----He seems to look thoughtfully for a while then looks straight at Raven. "It is possible that one of you may also become afflicted with this malady if it is a common trick of the enemy. Perhaps the time taken now to try and find a key to the puzzle is worthwhile. Perhaps saving the children is more important than protecting our group. For this decision I will leave it up to you gentlemen to decide."
-----Seth then bows deeply and motions for Albert to join him.
-----Raven says to Seth, "Hold on a minute Seth, don't be running off just yet." Raven turns to the group and continues, "We could scout ahead and try to find the camps. We then could come back for Seth and then attack them." Raven frowns, "I'm really torn here, but I can't just wait around here for a couple of days while Seth does his research."
-----Raven then says to Seth, "I think you're right to want to look into what happened to Sarah. It makes sense to me that your work on it might save our arses later on."
-----The Dread Pirate stands idly by, twiddling his thumbs, until mention of leaving Seth behind is made. He then looks worried and states, "Arrrr, what if'n we run into another o' those black clouds? We'll have nobody capable of helpin’ us out with it. Not to mention that havin a magical edge could be the difference between our survivin or not. I'd imagin that the bandits and even the ogres probably have their dens trapped seven ways to sunday. Much as I respect Seth's decision to stay behind and look after Sarah, we shouldn't be leavin both our mages back here. I expect Zan or somebody in the village can pore over Sarah's belongings. And I'll volunteer to stay behind and keep an eye on things meself."
-----"Wouldn't Sarah just love that." Sol drawls. "I really don't think she needs to see you during her recovery. Like it or not, you two just plain don't get along. Yer right about the Dark problem, though. I reckon' we'll have t'leave them until we do have access to Sarah or Seth's magic. However if Seth here, has any chance of magically determining Sarah's affliction, we should let him take it. I certainly don't think Zan is goin' t'be able t'make heads nor tails of Sarah's texts. 'Sides, as far as I see it, magic ain't the be all end all. We'll manage without it fer now."
-----The Dread Pirate appears nonchalant at Sol's mention of staying behind, "Shiver me timbers, I don't really much give a fart in a windstorm, what she likes or dislikes. I do have a knowledge of some herbs and their various effects though. So I'll go with Seth when he leaves to look at Sarah. Mayhaps I can tell something, maybe not. It won't do any harm anyways."
-----Sol clears his throat before continuing, "Ok, as it stands now, it looks like we're goin' t'be headin' south to these various ruins. There we try t'gain information, in particular, the fates o' the children. Seth and Rinda are staying, while the rest of us head off. Unless anyone has serious problems with this, this is what we'll do." Having finished he stands relaxed, waiting for replies.
-----"All right then, we'll check out the teamsters as Kaz suggested, then we'll leave for the ruins tomorrow at first light." Sol doesn't seem happy with the idea, but appears to be forcing himself. He looks over at Kazel and asks, "Ye want t'handle the teamster, Kaz?"
-----Seth holds up a hand. "How about this as a compromise. Since it is late and we will be sleeping, I'll go back now to the temple and have a quick look through Sarah's spell books. In the morning when we wake up, I will try and detect if she has a magic spell on her. If I find anything of use, we can decide in the morning if there is a need for me to stay or go ogre bashing." Seth looks at everyone. "How does that sound?"
-----"Good enough for me," Kazel says as she surveys the teamster's house. "I'll see what I can see with the teamster. Get some rest if you don't want to bother. Not much else we can do right now tonight anyhow."
-----"Yeah, that sounds like a decent compromise Seth." All the mention of first light and rest causes Sol to yawn. His jaws snap shut as he stifles it, and he turns to Kazel and comments, "I'll be getting some rest when ye walk out o' that building, not before." Seth then leads Sarah’s horse back to the temple.
-----The others then move past the small clump of trees to the side of the storage building. Ahead they see a small house behind which is a good-sized barn, large enough to hold a wagon or two and horses. A wagon pulls into the barn behind the house. As the adventurers approach, a man inside the barn begins to close the large doors.
-----Raven calls out to the man, "Hail! We need to talk to you for a minute. We just have a couple questions and then we'll be off." Raven tries to smile at the man, but it comes across more like a snarl. Raven looks over at Sol and says in a low voice, "You better whip your wit out." Raven gives Sol a slight grin.
-----Sol stares at Raven with a raised eyebrow for a moment and replies, "It's always out. Oh...You mean that." Sol digs around a pocket and pulls out the writ and holds it up for the man to see. Looking at Kazel, he shrugs and says to the teamster, "Excuse me friend, do ye know about the recent crime in the storage building?"
