-----Sol's expression grows more uncomfortable by the moment. He does accompany Sarah up to Raven and the other man, though instead of tying him up, Sol intents to guard the man, making sure he doesn't do anything unexpected.
-----Seeing that the man is apparently going to fight, the Dread Pirate sheathes his cutlass and scans the faces of the gathered prisoners. Recognizing the face of the one who shot him in the shoulder, he rummages about in the guards’ belongings until he finds an arrow. He then sneaks up behind the guard who shot him, grabs the arrow in both hands and slams it into the middle of the guard's back. Then, with a satisfied expression on his face, he wanders back over to the horses and sits down to watch Raven's fight.
-----The man shyly sweeps up a short sword and holds it out in front of him. A nervous smile crosses his lips as he says to the hunter, "Ain’t gonna be too hard cuttin’ ya through. Ya look like a stupid orc anyways."
-----Just then the man meets the hunter’s eyes. As the guard prepares to swing at Raven, he draws his last breath.
-----With a frightening fast move, Raven attacks with the fury of mountain lion. His swords flash in and across his opponent’s body once, twice and even a third time, effectively ripping and slashing through leather, muscle and bone.
-----The weapon falls from the man’s hand without coming close to contact with Raven. His dead body, probably already dead from the hunter’s first strike, collapses to the ground.
-----Everything falls silent, as the growing twilight dimly illuminates the widening pool of blood around the defeated guard. The other captive prisoners stare unable to speak through their gags with their eyes bulging in fear.
-----Well...Sol was going to stand guard over the man. "It's done now, Sarah. Let it lie." He cautions. The Gorian watches the hunter and the sorceress carefully, obviously unhappy at the prospect at having to argue with his friends.
-----Raven crouches over the dead man and then places the man's cloak over his face. "He fought well. He faced death like a man." Raven shifts his gaze to the group, "Is it just me that remembers these men had a hand in killing who knows how many helpless families? Including that poor elven family we found."
-----Raven stands and looks over at Dread, "Use a bow next time, it works better." Raven turns towards the group, "What is our next step?"
-----The Dread Pirate grins at Raven and looks at his shiskabobbed victim, "Narrr, I don't really know how to use bows. But I do believe in the punishment fitting the crime." The Dread Pirate squats down and looks judiciously at the ambusher, then states solicitously, "As soon as ye recover a bit, I'll probably kick ye in the head a couple times, to remind ye not to bushwack folk like meself. But since we're probably goin to hang all of ye, I don't suppose it'd be a lesson worth teaching."
-----The Dread Pirate looks at Sol inquisitively, "Arrrr, well as a duly appointed agent of Hearthorn, ye can probably dispense justice as well as anyone else. And these scurvy dogs deserve no better than hangin. I say we string 'em up from the yardarm and let the vultures nibble their toes. I don't think we can afford to spend all our time haulin prisoner parades behind us. Especially if they be as evil as these lot."
-----Sarah growls, frustrated at not moving fast enough to stop Raven. "Now all you have to do is say 'I dedicate this body to the dark goddess.' Go ahead, try it. You may find it suits you."
-----Raven frowns at Sarah, "I swear you're making less sense the longer I know ya. I didn't do what I've done to make you mad at me this time and I don't care." Raven's voice becomes tired, "We're getting close to the end of the hunt, let’s try to work together. After we've saved your poor friend and stopped this dark goddess, we can talk at great length about the path of 'evil' I'm on." Raven pauses as if he will say more, but instead crosses his arms in front of him and stares at Sarah. There is no anger or hate in Raven's eyes. Instead Raven seems very calm and confident.
-----Raven turns to face Sol. "You’re more about what an agent of Hearthorn can do, than I ever will. Can you hand out justice in Hearthorn's name?"
-----Following the short exchange of words between Raven and Sarah, Sol holds up his hands and offers peace, "Look, it's been a very long night, and I know that I for one have not had much sleep."
-----His look darkens somewhat and his tone gets harsher as he says, "Agent of Hearthorn? Fine, as an agent of Hearthorn, who has had these fools’ fates thrown into my hands, I say that we find a secure spot inside the keep t'stash them. I'm not about t'become an executioner of prisoners. I'm not justifying what these bastards have done, that's impossible, but I'm not going t'take the lives of those at our mercy."
-----Looking at Raven, his voice returns to normal, "Raven, I respect and understand what ye did. But I don't like it. That's all I'll say about it. Same goes fer you, Dread."
