-----Sarah was obviously about to cast a spell, but she can't because Sol's in the way. She sighs, mutters something under her breath and rushes to follow Sol.
-----Sol moves into the small door opening that seems to lead into a small room. Raven, Rinda and Sarah begin to follow him with Garrison, Romney and Lovan coming up last. Garrison and Romney immediately begin checking to make sure no one sneaks up on them. A quiet curse escapes Lovan as he pats his injured shoulder with the bolt still protruding from it.
-----As the three heroes follow Sol through the door opening, they turn to the left and, moving around a small partition wall, turn back to the right. There they see steps leading down into a lower level.
-----Sol starts descending the stairs as quickly as he can. At the bottom of the stairs there is evidence of some movement and dim light.
-----Sarah follows the others into the room at the bottom of the stairs.
-----As everyone comes to the bottom of the stairs, they see they are descending into the middle of a fifty by forty foot chamber. A quick scan of the room reveals a few large sacks filled with some kind of food goods and six large barrels stacked in one corner. To one side stands a weapons rack empty now except for three spears and a couple of morningstars. Two doors are in the wall to the left while one door is off to the left. The room extends to the south and adjoins another dark chamber.
-----Sol rushes to the door on the right. As he flings the door open, a smaller room is revealed.
-----Sol continues into the room, which measures twenty by twenty feet. The only feature here is a large worktable in the southwest corner and a door in the opposite wall. This room is very dark although everyone can barely make out the features due to Sarah's starry protection that continues to swirl around her.
-----Sol rushes to the door and opens it straightaway. Sol pauses there momentarily peering into the darkness. A slight sound reveals something stirring from within.
-----"Light a torch an' stay alert!" Sol calls over his shoulder as he races towards the movement, his sword arm raised to attack.
-----Garrison quickly moves to light his torch.
-----"By the Rager, what is happening?" Lovan grumbles as he tries to look past the protection sphere around Sarah.
-----Just then in the next darkened room comes the characteristic sound of Sol's blade cutting the air and slicing into something. This is followed by a bellowed roar of pain and anger.
-----As the first three behind Sol peer in, they see the outline of something large swing what looks like a polearm at the young warrior. The axe blade of the weapon slams into Sol making him take a step back.
-----Sarah enters the room and quickly steps to one side to let the others by. She raises and arm and fires three golden missiles at the monster.
-----Garrison snarls and growls out the word, "ogre." The woodsman shoves the torch into the Storm Priest's hand and hefts his battleaxe. Garrison then charges forward behind Raven, Rinda and Sarah who are already in the room.
-----The three magic missiles streak across and slam into the large monster. Now by the dim light of Sarah's magic added to the wavering torch that Lovan holds, everyone can see how huge this particular ogre is. The polearm that it hefts features a large stained axe-like blade at one end. It now roars again in surprise at the magical assault.
-----Sol and Raven both stab in at the creature and slash deeply through its leathery covering. This draws forth more darkish blood that flows down its great belly. Raven barely misses with his other sword as the thing turns.
-----Garrison's axe rings as it misses the large humanoid and strikes a stone column toward the middle of the floor. Cursing, the woodsman gathers himself to hit again.
-----The ogre lifts its weapon over its head and brings it down barely missing Sol as the young warrior painfully turns, still aching from the hit to his ribs.
-----Sol renews his attack with fervour, hoping to end this battle quickly.
-----Raven takes a second to look for a weakness in the ogre's defense. Seeing an opening, Raven attacks the creature with both blades flashing in the torchlight.
-----Sol, Raven and Garrison very quickly become a flurry of weapons around the large humanoid. Sol thrusts his Lathanian blade into the monster's gut while Raven slashes twice across the ogre's face as it bends over from its last attack.
-----Sol then backs up and brings his sword down trying to cut into the monster's neck, but the weapon is stopped by the leather covering the ogre's back.
