-----Suddenly, Garrison's opponent turns and runs. The woodsman yells something incomprehensible and charges after him.
-----Raven looks down at Krondor and sneers, "You showed no quarter when you killed my friends. You'll find none in return. Either you die on your knees or on your feet. Your choice." With that Raven attacks Krondor with savage blows. Raven's eyes show a blood lust the party has only seen when he battles orcs.
-----Sol's eyes flicker over the battle scene. Things were going more or less as the Gorian expected, maybe even better. The decision was easy enough; rushing towards the foe that Romney battles, Sol prepares a swing that will attempt to divide the provocative guard in twain.
-----Raven thrusts in with his short sword, but the attack is turned aside by Krondor's sword. Cursing, the enemy quickly brings his sword around slicing into Raven's left leg. As Krondor rises, he stabs Raven in the abdomen. Raven appears hurt due to the blood from his wounds though the look never leaves his eyes. The ranger throws himself at Krondor. His next two attacks, however, are stopped by Krondor's sword and his plate armor.
-----As Raven and Krondor continue to face off, the fire rises higher in the trees and the tall grass.
-----A loud thud is heard as Rinda's club slams into her opponent. With a frightened look on his face, the guard turns tail and runs.
-----In the excitement, Sol turns on his way to assist Romney. Catching sight of the fight between Raven and Krondor, the young warrior hesitates momentarily. As he spins, he throws himself off balance and tumbles to the ground. Shaking his head, he begins to pick himself up.
-----Romney swings heavily at his opponent. The man jumps back avoiding the attack. Just as he moves in to strike at the noble guard, the man-at-arms drops his sword. "Leave it on the ground," Romney warns him evenly, but the man glares at the noble guard defiantly.
-----Meanwhile, Lovan's warhammer swoops in front of his opponent. The man, obviously having enough of the Rager's priest, turns and runs following his two companions to escape.
-----Lovan opens his mouth to yell out in triumph, only to have his voice drowned out by an insanely loud, unholy roar.
-----Through the opening of the trees into the clearing beyond, the sound seemed to have originated from the treeline on the other side.
-----As everyone momentarily pauses to look, figures emerge from the trees across the clearing. Wearing mostly leather and carrying bows, the figures are recognized as elven warriors running from the source of the noise. In the next instant, a great whoosing sound is heard and an ominous greenish cloud billows out from the tree trunks and rises above the tallest branches.
-----Suddenly, from everyone's left a rider emerges from the trees and stops not far from the burning trees and grass. He calls and the elves make their way toward him.
-----As he sits atop his great dark brown horse just a few feet from the battling Krondor and Raven, everyone gets a good view of this man. His huge and stocky frame is armored in very fine studded leather while a large shield hangs from one arm. A magnificent battleaxe is hung on the saddle while a finely carved bow is slung about his shoulder. As he looks toward the adventurers, they can see his bushy dark hair and heavy beard are streaked with gray. A helm sporting antlers adorns the man's head giving him a regal, rustic look.
-----"One of ye get this fire out now before the entire forest is lost!" he says to the party in a rough but commanding tone. He quickly looks at the elves who are forming a line drawing their bows and watching the far line of trees. The greenish fog rises higher in the cloudy sky.
-----Turning back to the adventurers, the huge man on the horse tells them, "If ye wish, ye may run. If ye wish to stay, thou shalt fight this most foulest of dragons!"
-----The man then rides over to back up the troop of elves. Another great roar goes up from behind the trees as something massive thrashes about. Trees are heard falling to the ground and heavy footfalls are felt in the ground.
-----Krondor backs a bit from Raven, glancing warily at the distant trees.
-----Sol curses as he hauls himself off the ground. If he wasn't so angry right now, he'd be flushing with embarrassment. Seeing that enough of his companions now remain free of foes, Sol turns to regard the falling trees and the odd mix of elves and man that face the coming beast. "Raven...If this man is right, an' I do believe him..." The Gorian seems torn in a moment of indecision. Some need seems to draw him to the battle coming, but nonetheless he raises his blade and starts moving towards Krondor. "I'll back off on yer word, Raven."
-----Raven slashes at Krondor, but his blade once again rings off of the evil one's sword. Sol then steps up and delivers an attack aimed across Krondor's chest. Quickly the traitor parries this maneuver too.
