-----Suddenly, the dragon focuses in on the source of its greatest pain. With a hideous roar, it slashes forth with one of its claws at the hunter. The great talons slam into and rake across Raven badly wounding him.
-----Garrison yells to draw the evil creature's attention as he tries another attack. His huge axe fails to hurt the monster.
-----Undistracted, the dragon continues after Raven striking him with its other huge claw. Raven gets slammed into a tree from the force of the blow. Though the ranger still stands, he now looks critical!
-----There appears to be movement from the other side of the dragon. The huge monster roars out in anger once again and turns momentarily forgetting the ranger. It launches toward someone nears its tail. With a horrific motion, it quickly grabs up an elven fighter in its jaws and kills him.
-----"Raven!" Rinda screams, breaking the beginning of her spell. Seeing Sarah standing nearby, the huntress tells her, "Cover me!" Rinda then races through the trees to where Raven is.
-----All thoughts of awe of this imposing beast vanish as Sol sees Raven fall. Like Garrison, Sol calls a battlecry to distract the dragon as he fights on, "With the Great Rager's thunder!"
-----The world around Sarah Night was moving so fast she barely had time to keep up. She was not a woman of action, a carefully executed plan was more up her alley, and as it was the events of the past few moments had left her momentarily baffled. She just barely had time to register that Raven was badly hurt before she heeded Rinda's words. She cast a quick spell and flung three discs of rainbow colored force at the monster.
-----As she cast the spell her eyes glanced at Sol, in the thick of things like always, he didn't appear to be at all afraid...Sarah smiled, finding her own courage in his example, and she readied herself to cast another spell.
-----A dazed Raven braces himself against the tree. Raven mutters, "I think Krondor's sword worked too well." Realizing how hurt he is, Raven moves to put the tree in-between the dragon and himself.
-----A second volley of arrows fills the air seemingly coming toward the dragon from all sides. Again most of the small projectiles fall before the emerald colored scales. The dragon rears up and just for a moment, it almost looks like the great beast smiles evilly at those surrounding it.
-----Just then, two arrows soar from the bow of the one pointed out as a Lord. Both missiles thud heavily into the dragon's tail causing dark ichor to ooze from the points of impact.
-----Sick and tired of chopping at the dragon's feet, Sol seeks to make the fight that much more personal, especially after seeing Raven fall. Quickly the young warrior sheathes his sword. In typical Gorian fashion, Sol reaches forth his arms toward the huge beast. On his first attempt, Sol makes a grab but loses his grip as the dragon moves its feet.
-----Sarah's three magical discs swirl and turn among the tree trunks soaring toward the huge target. Two of the discs miss the huge body as the dragon hurriedly turns from side to side. The third one slams into the monster's rear end seeming to sting it there.
-----As the monster is momentarily distracted by the flying discs that whirl past its head, Sol leaps and holds on. Gripping the scales, Sol begins climbing as rapidly as he can up one hind leg of the trampling monster.
-----Still yelling, Garrison rushes forward and swings mightily at the dragon's belly. As he misses, the woodsman curses loudly.
-----Among the trees, Raven begins to stumble. Suddenly Rinda is there wrapping her arm around his waist and drawing farther from the battle scene. Setting him down behind a tree a few yards away, she quickly begins laying her hands on his stomach and chanting to the Great Hunter. As she finishes, Raven is still greatly wounded, but his color in his face is better. "Lie still," Rinda tells him, "One more healing spell and then we better use our bows."
-----With one loud thunderous roar, the dragon continues to rage in the direction of the other people attacking it in the forest. Shockingly, two more elven archers and a human dressed in the clothes of a woodsman meet most horrifying deaths.
-----Lovan continues shouting at the top of his lungs toward the continually building angry dark sky. A wide smile is pasted across his face while Romney continues to stand by his side swearing to the Holy Redeemer, his eyes glued on the sight of the great beast.
-----Sol continues his frenzied ascent of the dragon's back using the back ridges and any jutting scales as foot and hand holds.
-----Raven grimaces in pain as Rinda works on him. Raven flashes her a smile and says, "Thank you my love. I'm feeling better." Raven's face grows dark, "Grant me whatever strength the Hunter can give me, for I plan on killing that dragon before it kills one of our comrades."
