-----Brandel breathing hard but focused holds his sword out beside his huge paralyzed friend. His eyes go wide with anticipation that the advancing undead will soon be detoured.
-----"Blast ye!" Runik roars out with eyes bulging at the dead now within striking range. He glances back at Abbar, yelling, "Turn these thing a'fore . . . !" Just then the dwarf's eyes go wider with disbelief still staring behind the party. "Cap'n!" the dwarf yells trying to get the Dread Pirate's attention.
-----Turning to look back, Abbar has exited the chamber and now closes the door behind him sealing everyone in with the undead.
-----Kazel makes it to the angry man in the grease while he's struggling.
-----The Dread Pirate grits his teeth and draws his cutlass, taking up a position in front of the helpless mercenary. He replies to Runik, "I never really trusted that guy. I knew I shoulda just killed him. I guess we'd best guard Krord as long as we can."
-----Seth quickly casts a spell and suddenly a huge sticky mass of webbing stretches across two sets of columns engulfing four of the shambling dead. It also cuts off the view to the armored one in the greased area behind the webbing.
-----Five more undead approach and Runik steps up to meet the nearest one. Throwing all of his weight into his swing, the dwarf wades into one of the zombies and incredibly misses! The undead thing grasps at him but equally misses the embarrassed dwarf. Runik mutters to himself as he gets ready to attack again.
-----The Dread Pirate thrusts in with his cutlass ripping open the belly of an approaching dead man. The zombie is affected but gives no notice as it and another undead reaches for the halfling. They both miss amid Gimplefwick's fancy footwork courtesy of his magical boots.
-----With a slight look of desperation, Brandel raises his dark bladed sword and heaves it down through the shoulder of another zombie. The blade carries all the way through the dead thing practically cleaving it in two and ending its undead life. The shock on Brandel's face is evident as he watches the thing fall before him.
-----A last zombie grabs at Runik but it clumsily fails to catch him. Only four undead remain to fight as four others struggle within the webbing.
-----The Dread Pirate looks a bit more hopeful as Seth's web entangles four of the approaching zombies. He continues to hack at the zombie with the ripped open belly. He also says, "Brandel, good job on killin that one. But why don't ye hang back a bit now and just pick off the ones that try to get past Runik and me. We don't need ye getting yerself killed. Or wait til one of 'em is preoccupied with either Runik or me and then sneak in for a free hit on their backside."
-----Seth is surprised at how well his spell worked, not having cast it before. He places some web back in his pouch and loads up his crossbow. He looks for a clear shot, but when he cannot see Kazel, he decides to try and shoot at the armored man still on his back. The web barrier will not stop him casting spells! "Kazel, I am going to fire at the armored man!" he shouts so Kazel can get out of the way if she is between him and the target.
-----The Dread Pirate rips his cutlass across the dried skin of his zombie and does little more than tear more clothing and badly scratches the dead torso. The two zombies swing at the pirate but miss again.
-----The half-elven musician quickly moves around the columns and sees the armored man in the skull helm move toward the back of the platform where a large metal door is located in the wall. Seth quickly raises his crossbow and taking careful aim shoots at the evil one. The bolt sails across and hits the skulled one in the upper arm. Even though it protrudes from his arm, the enemy notices it little and continues toward the door.
-----Runik emits a dwarven curse and swings in at one of the two dead facing him. His weapon smashes into the rib cage causing the walking dead to lean to one side. Both zombies over him smash down at him with their fists connecting with their punches. Suddenly Runik looks injured as he shakes his head and grits his teeth.
-----Brandel looks horrified as the dwarf gets hammered. The young man then swings his sword at one of the dead but misses in his excitement.
-----Seth drops the crossbow and searches for his spider web and tries to web the doorway before the armoured one can disappear.
-----The Dread Pirate, seeing little he can do about the escaping armored figure, continues to flail his cutlass at the zombies in front of him, hoping that Kazel will manage to bring down the fleeing figure.
-----Gimplefwick quickly slashes in ripping through the chest muscles of the most damaged undead. The thing staggers and then falls in front of the halfling pirate lying still. The other zombie misses the Dread Pirate with its own flailing arms.
