-----Seth can see from his position a small object sailing through the air at the armored man in the skull helm. As it strikes him, it shatters with its liquid contents oozing down him. The armored one turns momentarily to look at someone to his left where the webbing interferes with Seth's view. As the evil one opens the metal door before him, Kazel moves from the shadowy webbing with a torch.
-----With a strained grunt, Runik swings his hammer forcibly at one of the dead still facing him. As he brings his right arm across, he misses his target and loses his grip on his weapon. The warhammer falls six feet to his left and throws the dwarf off balance.
-----A loud smack is heard as one of the zombies brings the back of its arm heavily against Runik's head injuring the dwarven fighter even more.
-----Brandel raises his own sword and brings it down on the other dead thing's shoulder. With a mighty slice, the arm separates from the zombie trailing a black ichor as it hits the floor. The one-armed zombie then swings around grasping at empty air as it turns.
-----Back on the platform, the armored one begins to open the door. As he does, he appears to make no movement to escape. Rather, he stands motionless for a moment as if speaking into the darkness beyond. "Come forth," he beckons, "the living are yours to take!"
-----Seth, after realizing his wanted web spell has failed, quickly swaps the spiders' web for some pork fat and aims a Grease spell at the floor before the open door way.
-----Almost groaning out loud at the sight of Runik's weapon sailing across the room, the Dread Pirate can do nothing but try to finish his last opponent before whatever is beyond the doorway enters the room.
-----The floor in front of the door suddenly develops a glazed look. The armored one steadies himself still holding onto the door. Carefully placing his feet, he looks to be able to move out of the affected area in the next moment.
-----Kazel suddenly loses her footing while still clinging onto the torch in her hand. The half-elven girl lands and slides on her back in front of the dark opening in front of the doorway. The face behind the skull helm looks down at her and calmly says, "Your corpse will serve me well."
-----The Dread Pirate's cutlass carves into the last zombie facing him raking the entrails from its dried belly. Its dead eyes stare straight ahead as it gropes for the halfling with clumsy arms and fails to make contact.
-----Runik dives for his dropped weapon as an undead thing swings at him. Luckily the zombie misses the dwarf as he grasps his warhammer.
-----Meanwhile, movement is seen coming from the darkened opened portal that the evil one opened. Human-like forms approach catching the flickering light of Kazel's torch. Dull yellow eyes stare menacingly at the butcher, the webbing and the fighting beyond. From the pale dead faces, long and tough tongues protrude from mouths filled with sharp and elongated teeth. The expression on these wretches is not blank like the zombies the rest face. Rather, a leering evil cunning dwells behind the dead eyes making these creatures all the more horrific.
-----As the first of these creatures looks down and reaches for Kazel, it suddenly slips and loses its footing. It tumbles onto its belly where it squirms gnashing at the air with its claws and teeth. Just a few feet from the thrashing monster, Kazel almost looks prone as she lies on her back although she shakingly holds onto her torch.
-----With a desperate swing, Brandel effectively cleaves through the body of the one-armed zombie, destroying it and sending it in pieces to the floor.
-----Slight motions are seen in the huge webbing that Seth had cast as it continues to hold the walking dead within. One zombie stalks Runik as he struggles to regain his feet while the last one faces Gimplefwick.
-----Still Krord remains motionless as a frantic helpless look gleams from his eyes.
-----Seeing the web didn't hit, Kazel throws the torch. But she has no idea how she ended up next to the doorway.
-----The Dread Pirate, dancing about and flailing at the last zombie with his cutlass, remarks, "Has anyone else noticed that this doesn't seem to be going very well for us? And it just seems to be gettin worse."
-----Glancing quickly over at Seth, the Dread Pirate says, "If ye could, check that door behind us. Maybe Abbar didn't lock it. If we can get outside and drag Krord out after us, we can try killin these things one at a time as they come out the door. We're gettin chewed up in here. And somethin looks to be comin through that door over there. I don't think our mercs are up to another battle right now."
-----The Dread Pirate then slashes into his opponent ripping the knees out from under it. The thing falls flat on its face but struggles to get up on its now missing lower legs. Hanging onto its undead existence, the zombie reaches for Gimplefwick with one hand only to barely miss him.
