-----"No." Sarah says to Sol. "Tell me your questions and I'll ask them." She turns back to Marast and speaks in fluent elven.
-----Some of the questions that Sol asks Sarah to ask have already been voiced by the sorceress. The only real thing Sol wants to know is if Marast was lying to protect the others, or if he was actually telling the grim truth, and the Gorian lets Sarah know that that is all he wants.
-----With a pale smile Sol adds, "An' th' translation would be nice."
-----Sarah holds up a hand as Sol speaks, smiling. "Hold on Sol, I'm talented but I'm not that quick." She waits for Marast to answer.
-----Raven turns to Rinda and says in a low voice, "I find it scary how easily one can be taken over by magic. Still this was the only way we would know the truth."
-----Raven turns to Sarah, "I have no questions for our new friend. Except maybe have him drop his weapons at some point. Don't know long your charming personality will win him over." Raven says the last part with a slight smile on his face.
-----Marast then begins to calmly answer the young mage speaking in a voice that is strong but less gruff. The elven language he speaks seems to flow easily. Twice as he speaks, he looks toward the walled town and once he nods toward Sol as he replies. After he answers Sarah's first set of questions, Marast falls quiet although he keeps his attention focused on Sarah.
-----Rinda nods in reply to Raven. She says with a curious look on her face, "I wonder why a child of the forest such as him would be a mercenary among humans."
-----As soon as Marast finishes speaking, Rinda looks at Raven while everyone else looks at Sarah with curious looks.
-----Failing to hold his patience Sol looks at Sarah and asks, "Well?" The young warrior also fails to hide the discomfort in his tone.
-----Raven turns to Rinda and says in a low tone, "He was telling us half truths. Dread and the rest are fine. They're going after some dark group that is said to be behind this plague. Marast here WAS heading out to get help for the people here." Raven shrugs his shoulders, "Seems that Dread and the rest are wearing their good-guys hat today. To be honest, I'm impressed they would forget the dragon's lair and help the people here."
-----Raven turns to Sarah, "Of course my elven isn't as polished as yours, did I miss anything?"
-----Sarah holds up a hand to the others, ignoring them, as she continues to question Marast in elven.
-----Now both frustrated and edgy at the delay, Sol fumbles for his waterskin and takes a long drink. That does little for him and soon he places the skin back into his pack and mentions an opinion to Raven, "I think they pretty much always had their good-guys hat on. Like the rest o' us however, they seem to wear other headgear. Theirs happens t'include taking advantage of others when it suits them." Sol then leans forward in his saddle and broods about whether he's any different.
-----Raven pulls out his own waterskin. He takes a drink and then says to Sol, "Maybe down right down at their core they're good, but they seem unstable to me. Can't trust 'em. I won't make that mistake again." Raven grumbles, "As for the rest of what you said about most people screwing you over every change they get. I can't argue your point. Why do you think I live in the Hunter's forests?"
-----Raven gives Sol a slight smile and then turns his attention to Sarah's interaction with the elf.
-----Again the elf calmly answers Sarah. At one point the frown on his face deepens and he pauses as if hesitating to answer. He then seems to relax and he answers her.
-----Garrison, Bradley, and Romney continue to watch around the countryside and occasionally glance toward the group speaking in elven.
-----Although there has been no break in the clouds all day, the air becomes quite warm without much wind.
-----Sarah gets angry as the elf responds and she turns to the others. "Gimplefwick is alive and well as I don't think any of us hadn't guessed. Kazel and Seth stole the horses apparently for no good reason and now they think they're going to do the right thing again." She sighed. "So do you want to set up a meeting with them tomorrow? Or just jump them now?" She pauses and considers some options. "Or should we just make Marast here disappear and let them figure it out?"
-----"Right now, as Marast seems t'have said, they're hunting the source o' this plague. I say that whatever issues we have with them can wait till AFTER this has been dealt with. It's just too immediate a problem. An' too serious fer both o' our groups t'weaken ourselves over. I reckon we should let Marast lead us to them now." Sol offers his opinion firmly, apparently rather resolved in his feelings.
-----Looking at Sarah he questions, "Sarah, do ye have any idea how long that potion will last?"
