-----Shaking his head firmly Sol continues to speak, "An' as professional as ye both may be, and as a mage ye've certainly proven yerself no less, there is no way yer going t'speak with them alone. It's just far too risky."
-----The huntress casts an uncertain eye back toward the town. She then says to the mage in a pleasant tone while she raises her eyebrows with a doubtful look, "Sarah, I can understand you wanting to talk with Seth, but I don't know if this is the place to seek him out." She looks again at the dim gray walls. "The disease that is plaguing the town just doesn't seem . . . natural to me. I would not want Raven or Sol to go there alone."
-----Glancing at Marast, Rinda adds, "I do not know what Marast has told you, but he can only tell you what he knows. What if you seek out Seth and he is not where Marast may think he is?"
-----Rinda looks at Raven and continues, "Raven is right. You remember how Kazel and the Dread Pirate were acting in Sol's chambers a few nights ago. If you met with Seth, you know that they would be there. Even if Seth and you spoke, I would think the Dread Pirate would try all too hard to get under your skin and I'm afraid it is too hard to tell what Kazel would do."
-----Sarah says to Sol, "I know he took some while I was knocked out from Aaron's ambush but I don't know if that was the only time. I only noticed it right before we split up. I should have been paying attention."
-----To the whole group she sighs and rubs her temples. "Okay everyone, let's try this one more time. I'm going to go find someone and do something really quick, where should I meet you guys later?"
-----Sol nods to himself when Sarah mentions that the spells were taken after the Repe incident. Looking the mage in the eyes he concedes, "Sarah, he asked if he could look through yer spells t'see if there was anything he could find t'aid ye. I agreed...We didn't know what was wrong with ye. Ye were really sick, an'..."
-----The Gorian trails off and looks skyward for a moment before ending with, "Th' point is, if he took some o' yer spells then, it was because we let him."
-----Sarah responds, "I don't care, he took them, that means he owes me some spells in return. I've seen him use spells I don't know. I'm just going to ask him for a couple."
-----Raven says to Sarah, "I agree, it would not wise if I came with you." Raven pauses and then looks over at the elf ranger, "Tell you what. You ask him if he thinks you'll be harmed if you met with Seth and the others. He knows what the thieves truly think about us. If he says you might be harmed, then for the good of the mission you should not head back into town. If he says it would be safe, then we'll meet at that small grove right over there in two hours. Sounds fair to me...how about it Sarah?"
-----Sarah considers Raven's words and decides that it's fair enough. She speaks to Marast once again in the beautiful elven language.
-----Sol shoots Raven an angry accusing glance and then resettles his gaze on Sarah. He doesn't wait for Marast to reply to the mage, saying his piece first, "On yer own. An' what if th' meeting doesn't go down well? What if more angry words are exchanged? If they decide to act on some o' th' stuff th' pirate's mentioned fer ye? I'll be damned if ye do this on yer own."
-----Sol looks around at the others, trying to gauge their opinions, before once more looking at Sarah.
-----"As guards loyal to the Estate of Hearthorn," Romney states firmly, "we cannot in good conscious allow a noblewoman to be without escort into a potentially dangerous situation." The looks on Abram's and Bradley's faces echo the sentiment. Even Shema sits higher on her saddle and nods once at the young mage.
-----"There is a saying among the hunters," Rinda simply says, "You do not rush into the mouth of the beast to grab a morsel from its tongue."
-----While Romney and Rinda speak, Garrison mutters something to Sol. Suddenly the conversations are broken as Marast begins to answer Sarah in elven.
-----Sol nods and whispers to Garrison in return as Marast speaks to Sarah.
-----Sarah looks at Sol and the guards angrily, ready to lay into them for not letting her go out on her own again, when Marast speaks. Sarah grows uncomfortable at his answer and she pauses in her remark. "I..." she glances down at the ground. "I guess you guys are right." She says sulkily. Sarah sighs and stares up at the sky, 'I never get it right when I try to do things by myself.' she thinks to herself. 'Maybe if I could do more magic...'
-----"So now what? They steal our horses, we get mad, we follow them, and we decide not to do anything about it? Why haven't we been going after Krondor or the rest of Devlin's cult this whole time if we weren't going to do anything?" Sarah asks, not angry just genuinely curious.
