-----At that moment, Sol continues to chase his quarry. As he does, an eruption takes place on Sarah's flame sphere. A quick and sudden flurry of flashing and bursting fills the area in front of Sarah and Lovan as multicolored sparks fly. In the next moment it is over. Sarah's flame sphere stands immobile as both Sarah and Lovan shake their heads while covering their eyes with their hands.
-----"By the Rager," Lovan curses at the blinded mage beside him, "what have you done to my eyes?"
-----Still involved in a ridiculous game of catch with the wizard, Sol yells over his shoulder at the Rager's priest, "Lovan, direct yer energies at th' enemy and start laying any blame at their feet." The Gorian's head snaps back to his prey and whispers as he continues the chase.
-----"Nothing! It's a blinding spell cast by the enemy you moron!" Sarah snaps, getting impatient as usual with the pompous priest. "Back off, I can't dispel anything else today." Sarah concentrates on avoiding the enemy. "Don't move Lovan!" Sarah searches for some gum arabic and casts a complex spell.
-----"WELL?" Lovan asks out loud as the chaos of unseen action takes place around the priest and Sarah. Sarah finishes her invisibility spell, but as to the result the young mage finds she is uncertain. Surely her incantation was correct; it felt right, but with her sight gone there is no way to visibly verify it.
-----"Silence you fool!" Sarah whispers. "We should be invisible."
-----As Sol keeps up the annoying chase of the mage, he sees the evil one suddenly stop by a pillar and work his hands and mouth quickly. In an instant, a dull yellowish magic bolts toward the Gorian, not totally unlike one of Sarah's magic missiles. Out of habit, Sol ducks and the magic energy goes sizzling over his head.
-----A sense of thrill goes through Sol as the evil one's spell splashes on the wall behind him. It is compounded by the look of disbelief in his foe's expression.
-----Before the mage can react, the Lathanian blade finds the mage's gut and goes deep. The man screams out in pain and terror as he falls to his knees badly hurt.
-----From across the balcony steps another armored man from the shadows. On his head, he wears a horned helmet. Holding his arms out toward the young warrior, he intones in a rough voice, "By the Hate of Helator, I command you HELD!"
-----Sol blinks as he feels the spell wash over him. The mage bleeding below him stifles his whimpering as if anticipating the evil magic defeating the Gorian. In the next second, a smile passes Sol's face as he knows that the evil one's spell has failed!
-----The smile quickly turns to a snarl as Sol swings his blade down in an arc. Unwilling to leave a living mage behind him, Sol fully intends to make the wounded wizard's death as quick as possible so that Sol can run around the balcony to get to the man with the horned helm.
-----Sol strikes down at the bleeding mage but the man quickly moves avoiding the weapon. The mage quickly casts a spell whereupon his right hand begins to glow with a bluish hue. He then quickly reaches for Sol's leg. The young warrior, seeing the devious action, jumps back avoiding the reaching mage.
-----Sol then swings down a second time striking the man's shoulder and separating bone. The mage screams out again badly wounded.
-----Across the way, the horned helmeted one curses and casts a new spell. From his right hand springs forth a three-foot long sword-like blade of flame! He then begins stalking toward Sol as the Gorian melees with the bloodied mage at his feet.
-----Sol's snarl turns back into the grin as he anticipates the coming fight with the cleric and his burning sword. His grin fades momentarily as he aims to end the mage's life, but will return in force once Sol joins battle with the cleric.
-----On the floor, three followers quickly face off against the hunter. Raven can tell that a strange expression of rage holds each of their faces. With sudden slashes of his swords, Raven takes two of them down fast and violently. The third one swings in forcefully with a long sword but the hunter parries the attack with a loud clash. With a quick turn of his own sword, Raven brings his weapon into the last follower's belly forcing upward to catch the evil one's heart. The hunter then looks across the floor at the others hardly breaking a sweat from the short fight.
-----By this time, Shema has made her way out of the slick area. She reaches across with a rope to help Romney out who keeps his eyes on the armored man who Rinda nailed with an arrow.
-----The eyes behind the horned helmet widen at Raven's fury and he begins to hobble back into the shadows.
-----"No you don't!" Rinda hisses and she quickly stands legs apart balancing herself strongly. Grasping at the ritual necklace at her throat, she stretches forth her other hand and shouts, "By the Greatest of Hunters, the prey shall be held!"
