-----Seth waits for Kazel and Gimplefwick to get themselves sorted and then thinks a bit while stroking Albert's head. He casually asks, "Um, Kazel, you know how you know the people that slaughtered the caravan? Well, have we met all of them so far or are there some more we need to meet?"
-----Kazel replies, "Well, you've already seen those three last night. This woman is another one of those assassins on the road, so there should be one more because there were five of them. Of course they can have more friends and their dear leader Nodeus."
-----Seth starts ticking off on his fingers. "So that is one missing dead woman, one wounded in the leg woman, one very dead crossbow man, one very strange merchant, a murderer we have not met and a bloke called Nodeus, who we either have not met or we have and we did not ask his name..." Seth ponders this for a bit. "Well that sounds like pretty tough odds still. Shall we check out that room or try and track down that woman that you wounded? Chances are there is only one or two of them staying in this room number 5 ... maybe we could construct a cunning disguise as cleaning women and enter room number 5 to clean up...."
-----Gimplefwick begins to tap his fingers against the window as he thinks about what Seth and Kazel are saying, "Shiver me timbers, I don't think I ought to be goin in that room. They seem to have my description. If’n two half elves and a halfling were to barge into their room and start cleanin, I think they'd be suspicious. I'm thinkin one of us should just be goin out on that roof an lower themself down and peer into their window and see what we can see. Then we can go back to the guild and report our findings. If’n there be five of 'em, then I have no desire to be playin the brave hero. If we be goin into a fight, then we should at least gear up and get ourselves some armor. Or we can try to separate them one by one and take 'em out. Head to head is not the way fer us."
-----Gimplefwick thinks further, "At least let’s be seein what those items I lifted off the somewhat dead woman were. They might be useful."
-----"Let's take a look, then," Kazel seems eager to get on with the tasks at hand. "I'll go look. I'll know the face of the last one, if he's in there." She starts towards the window and looks for any passerbys down in the streets, then silently hops on the window sill and starts to climb out onto the roof. She then pops her head back into view and whispers, "I'll need a rope, of course, and someone to lower me if you're coming."
-----Seth nods, "Ok, I'll come.. And I’ll ask Albert to keep an eye out for passersby as well..."
-----Gimplefwick climbs back out as well, saying, "Arrr, we might as well all go together. That way they can't separate us again."
-----The three thieves climb back out on the roof and scramble across the wooden shingles to the other side of the building. The wind picks up and a chill carries through the air hinting at the possibility of rain.
-----Carefully they steal into position on the west side of the roof and prepare a rope. As they do, Seth keeps a wary eye on the activity across the street at the gate. The guards, for the most part, seem to be occupied with sheltering themselves from the wind and watching for passing citizens.
-----The Dread Pirate secures the rope to a small chimney and he and Seth steady the rope for Kazel. The half-elven girl grasps the rope and nimbly eases along the side of the building. Descending as silently as a spider, she keeps to the left of the window so as not to cast any shadows into the room. As she reaches the window, Seth and Gimplefwick see her peer inside . . . .
-----Seth nudges Gimplefwick and whispers, "At the smallest sign of trouble, we pull her up, ok?"
-----Kazel stops breathing as she stares a few moments more at the room inside the window for any more details or signs of movement. Carefully, she then begins to climb back up along the rope. When she is back up, she crouches down with the others and whispers, "Okay, this is what I saw: That slimey merchant and another cloaked and hooded figure - and I don't think it was that muscle woman who punched out the guard. Anyway, they just left the room. And then there's this figure sitting in front of the fireplace whom I am sure is that dead woman. Or used to be dead. I don't know what they did but remind me to cut off their heads next time." She then looks at the others. "I can take another look on the north side, but I think that is it. I s'pose that big oaf wasn't worth their time to raise..."
-----Gimplefwick shrugs, "Arrr, or the big oaf was just too big to carry off. Anyway, I say we set sail fer the guild and get the hades outta here. Its tempting to try an attack, but I can't see it working very well, what with all of them close by. Perhaps one of us should stay here to keep an eye on them, in case they decide to move to another location. They just might do that since I was spotted. If’n you two want to head back to the Guild, I'll stay here and keep an eye on things. Just make sure that ye get some oil and check on those items that Books was supposed to look at."
-----Seth smiles at Gimplefwick, "Ok then, but don't you want to swing through that window kicking it in and cut off that dead wench's head?" Seth looks around for a while. "Ok, but I will ask Albert to stay around and keep an eye on you. That way if you disappear or get hurt Albert can communicate to me while we head back to the guild."
