-----Gimplefwick peers at Seth curiously, "Arrr...no it's not a song. It be a joke. You see the half orc is horny and illiterate. He wants to spendin' the night in a whorehouse. But being' a stupid half-orc, he spends the night in a warehouse. Get it?" Gimplefwick commences laughing at his own crude joke.
-----Seth smiles, "Oh I get it now. I just thought it was a song," he sort of says defensively, "I could make it a song if you want."
-----The thieves walk back to the entrance of the warehouse. Looking into the dark building, they can see Calron over by the north wall finishing up on some last minute inventory. The flames from the blazier cast everything in the middle of the room in a dim orange and yellow light.
-----Seth walks up to Calron and taps him on the shoulder, "Hello Calron, It is us!"
-----"Dang nibbit!" the middle-aged man curses, spinning and holding his writing quill and parchment as if he was going to use them to defend himself with. His large eyes stare at the three from underneath his bushy eyebrows. He then calms himself slightly and lowers his arms.
-----His thin face and pulled back gray hair look ghostly in the pale light. "Who’re you?" he asks, his eyes darting back and forward between the trio. "What’re ya wantin’?"
-----Seth smiles at Calron, "We are here to collect a wagon of goods going to Lut. We know we are supposed to pickup the wagon in the morning, but we have heard all sorts of tales of strange happenings and orcs out in the wilds. So if it is ok with you, we will just be taking the wagon and goods now so we can get an early start to miss out on some of them bad things."
-----Calron’s face lightens a bit and he chuckles. "That’s the best one I’ve heard all night. Can ya tell me who sent ya?" Calron asks as he fits a dark handkerchief around his head and looks toward the door. He looks as if he is scanning the place to make sure they are not overheard.
-----Looking back at Seth, he explains, "Ya gotta understand, that ain’t the way we do things. If we sent you out in a wagon now, certain people would get suspicious. Anyhow if I sent you with the wagon and there were orcs out there, your chances are gonna be worse at night." He looks over the three to see how they respond.
-----"That's what I thought," Kazel looks a little perplexed. "We did want to be leaving in the morning, didn't we? Of course, there was just a wagon going out of here," she says turning back to Calron with a questioning look on her face. "Anyway, it was Wain who sent us. So what, then, would be your way of doing things, good sir?"
-----"Ah, finally some young people that’re gonna listen to an old man fer a change," Calron says grinning. He then holds his hands out in front of him as if he is beginning to tell a story. "Okay, let’s have a seat over here and I’ll tell ya what we’ll have ya do." He directs them to some boxes and a crate set on the floor and invites them to sit down. He then reaches into a barrel and tosses each young thief an apple.
-----Sitting down himself, Calron starts to explain, "In a little while, there will be another wagon come in here. That will be the one ya take tomorrow at first light. There is a concealed compartment in the bottom of the wagon where we’ll stow the real goods you’re movin’. On top of the compartment, we’ll load some boxes and barrels containing spices and fruit."
-----Some men and me will get it loaded up fer ya tonight and we’ll get some horses from the stables and hitch ‘em up early tomorrow morn. All you three need to do is be here at first light and everything will be ready to go. I’ve got some clothes ya can wear so ya look more like travellin’ merchants. When ya get to the gates, they’ll probably just wave ya through. If they stop ya, just tell ‘em yore takin’ some goods over to Tru."
-----"Now yore lookin’ at two days’ travel goin’ and two days’ travel comin’ back. Ya should make ‘bout fifteen miles each day. At the mid-point on each trip, yore gonna haveta camp out along the trail road. When ya get to Lut, ya wanna start askin’ fer a farmer named Jogler. He’s the one ya wanna see. Ya just unload the goods at his place, he gives ya the money it’s worth and ya head back here. When ya make it back to town, ya come here first and drop off the wagon and horses."
-----"Can ya drive a wagon all right? I can send a boy with ya if ya need someone to drive?" Calron asks.
-----Seth seems embarrassed as he says, "Well I actually meant an early start in the morning." Seth takes note of what Calron is saying as he quickly finishes the apple. The thought of traveling with fruit appeals to him as he can catch up on some of that eating he has missed out on lately.
-----When Calron finishes, he smiles, "Well, I for one know nothing about wagons, so I do not mind if you send your boy along," Seth nods towards Kazel and Gimplefwick, "But my companions may not need the boy’s aid." Seth helps himself to another apple hoping Calron won't mind.
