-----The shopkeeper furrows his forehead and his eyebrows meet together. It almost looks like one straight black line atop his eyes. He snarls at the Dread Pirate and says, "Yeah, I got ‘em. Three gold, ya get a dozen."
-----To Kazel, the shopkeeper says, "They ain’t worth nothin’! I sell swords here, not buy ‘em!" He pauses and sets his arms on top of his broom waiting for the trio’s answer.
-----"You think so?" Kazel looks disappointed. "I was sure they work good as any sword you make, 'specially when it's stuck between your eyebrows, if that's possible."
-----The shopkeeper looks down at the trio and ignores Kazel’s comment. "Well, do ya want those caltrops or not?" he says, staring at Gimplefwick.
-----Gimplefwick, obviously working very hard not to snicker with glee at Kazel's comments, replies to the merchant, "Aye, I'll take two dozen of yer caltrops, but they'd best be top of the line. I'll not be having any of yer second rate, backwoods materials. And fer the price yer askin', ye can throw in a strong leather pouch to keep 'em in." Gimplefwick sneers menacingly at the shopkeeper.
-----The shopkeeper then goes behind a counter and proceeds to gather together the Dread Pirate’s order. He lifts a wooden box onto the counter and out of this he counts out two dozen caltrops. As much as he can, he also continues to eye the thieves, watching their every move.
-----As the shopkeeper works, Seth tells Kazel and Gimplefwick that he wants to visit the tailor’s across the road. He has a few items of clothing in mind he would like to buy.
-----Finally, Gimplefwick’s caltrops sit inside a not so fancy bag atop the counter. The bushy eyebrowed man announces in a rude tone, "That’ll be six gold pieces!"
-----Gimplefwick grumbles for a bit and carefully inspects each and every caltrop, taking as long as possible to do so. Finally, he shrugs his shoulders and sniffs condescendingly, "Well, they'll do, I suppose. What could I expect in such a fleabag of a town." Gimplefwick counts out the coins from his share of the collected loot.
-----"Not too much from what I'm seeing," Kazel says as she plays impertinently with some of the daggers on the wall.
-----"Hey!" the hairy brow on the man’s head stands out against the red shade his face is becoming, "Don’t touch if ya ain’t buyin’! I’m a fixin’ ta close if ya big city folk’re done!" He grabs up the six coins from the Dread Pirate.
-----Seth smiles at the man. "Ok Mister, but we might be around to see you next time we come to town. Is there anything from the big city you might be needing?"
-----"How about some manners or skills?" Kazel squints at the dagger before flipping it back onto the wall. She smiles and puts up her hands in a mock show of peace and goodwill at the smith. "Well, let's be off. Who knows what folks are rushing to do after dark in this place."
-----The trio leaves the shop leaving the bushy browed man to grumble to himself. Across the road, the thieves see a few workers enter a small building used as a tavern. They then begin to walk down the road to their left.
-----They pass by the cobbler’s place and the house beyond it is the one belonging to the tailor. As they enter, they see a thin wiry looking man, perhaps in his thirties, folding a few shirts and placing them in a box. All around the front room hang fine looking items of apparel. Belts, hats, breeches, cloaks, capes, gloves and gowns all seem to have a place here. The shop smells of fine, clean cloth.
-----The shopkeeper looks at his customers with raised eyebrows. He makes a slight sound behind his closed lips that let the thieves know they have his attention.
-----"Greetings Sir, I would like to purchase some new clothes." Seth looks around and then says, "I would also like to buy a cloak, a double sided one, but with different colors on each side."
-----"And I'd like a pair of leather gloves," Kazel adds after Seth. "Nothing fancy, as long as it lasts."
-----The thin wiry man puts down the shirts and comes around the side of the counter. Placing his hand on his chin, he seriously eyes Seth up and down. Finally he nods and emits a sound of approval behind his firmly pressed lips. "Let us start by looking at a shirt and breeches combination. Pardon me one moment, please."
-----The shopkeeper then turns toward Kazel, "My dear, we have some elegant gloves over there." The tailor points to a certain table. "We have various styles and colors including black, tan, red, blue and white. There are also a few stitched with designs and beads. Do take a look." The tailor begins to turn back to Seth, but then to Kazel, he adds, "We have some beautiful gowns that I think you would look absolutely charming in."
