-----Kazel looks bemused, but then seems to give it some thought. "Hmm . . . might you have something elegantly fit for a ball, but simple enough for a Summertide market fest. Something charming, and yet spirited and gives me free movement?" She seems slightly conscious of herself taking on a tone like the tailor's, and decides to browse the gloves while Seth picks his clothes.
-----The tailor then begins to show Seth different articles of clothing. First come the shirts ruffled and frilled in an assortment of different shades of the rainbow. Next Seth is shown pants and breeches mostly in black, brown and tan, some with designs and stripes embroidered down the sides. The tailor also shows Seth stockings and hose of different shades. The shopkeeper then brings out shoes, boots, belts and vests for Seth to try in different combinations. Hats, some large, some small, some tall, some plumed are also brought out.
-----Of the cloaks, Seth sees mostly shades of light blue, red, black, gray and green. Of the double-sided cloak, the tailor, with his hand on his chin, says, "No, I do not have one, but if you tell me what color tones you are interested in, I might be able to piece one together for you by tomorrow morning."
-----The tailor turns and suddenly sees Gimplefwick. The tailor’s eyes widen in shock and covering his mouth with both hands, gasps. Slowly lowering his hands, the tailor walks toward the Dread Pirate muttering, "No, no, you poor soul! Surely there is some kind of suit I can interest you in?"
-----Touching Gimplefwick’s clothing, the tailor rests the back of his other hand on his forehead. He shakes his head while giving the halfling pirate a look of pity. "Perhaps something in Gorian checks?"
-----When the tailor suggests Gorian checks to Gimplefwick, Kazel chuckles and looks up from the gloves. "Yea, that'll look great on you!"
-----Gimplefwick winces when the clothier mentions his current garments, "Arrr, I be knowin the disrepute which these clothes bring me. If only ye'd seen me in my pirate finery, instead of these pathetic merchant's clothes. It' enough to be makin a brave halfling weep." As though he might soon begin to weep, Gimplefwick knuckles one eye and then scowls at the merchant.
-----Seth spends some time sorting through the clothes and is making many appreciative noises. He turns to the man and says, "How can such a small community support such a shop of quality? Amongst other things I am a collector of fine arts and a Harper of small ability, maybe you might be able to point me in the direction of some art worthy of my attention."
-----The shopkeeper smiles at Seth, "I find that this small village is better for my nerves. The big town is sometimes too much. Also, I find I make a good business from the merchants traveling to and from Hearthorn. Sometimes it is a treat for some of my clients to travel here."
-----He continues, "I am sorry. That is the disadvantage of the small village. There is not any fine art here worthy of attention, unless one would consider the bawdy stories and songs they share at the local tavern, but we will not even speak of that."
-----Seth now turns his attention to the clothes, "Well, at the moment, I am slightly financially embarrassed, but let us see how we go. First the cloak I would like one side to be tan or brown and the other side to be pale blue or maybe pink? I think for the first ensemble a pair of black breeches with a red stripe, with that a nice light blue shirt and an embroidered vest, oh and a big floppy hat I think. For the second, multicolored hose, and a white very frilly shirt and a striped vest and a small red hat, preferably a red one about four inches tall and round like a tube with a little black tassel, I have heard some call them a fez. And maybe, oh yes, maybe two sashes of different colors one red and one blue. How much would that come to do you think?
-----The tailor turns his head to one side and thinks out loud, "Let us see, I would recommend a cloak of dark brown with a pale blue backing. Yes, the contrast would be most rewarding, I think. The pink, . . . hmmm, no, no, too daring."
-----As Seth describes the selections he’s made the excitement in the tailor grows, "Yes, but such exquisite taste you have! I applaud your sense of fashion!" He then brings forth all the items Seth mentioned except for the cloak, which he promises to have by the next morning. "I would say your collection would cost eight gold and five silver. Would you consider some boots or shoes? I will give you some time to consider while I show the young lady the dresses."
-----The shopkeeper takes Kazel’s hands and stands back from her. "Ahh, yes, my dear, do not move!" Cupping his hand over his mouth, "Exquisite form! It will be an honor to show you of my collection!" He first brings forth a beautiful red peasant dress that is cut straight down to the waist and flares at the bottom allowing freedom of movement. Its sleeves are tight at the elbow while the lower sleeves flare out.
-----Next, he shows her a green dress bodice set, which includes a dress with a square cut neck and bloused sleeves. The bodice is a darker green than the rest of the dress.
